Chapter 263: Trip

Knowing a subtle reprimand when she heard one, Kagome quieted. She would have sagged in Sesshoumaru’s arms if her stubbornness didn’t force her to remain upright. She would not show weakness in front of the silver-haired female.

Still, summer was upon them now. The blazing heat of the sun did nothing but light the fuse of her already short temper.

“Was Inuyasha there as well, Sesshoumaru-sama?” Kagome asked, steering the discussion toward more serious things.

“He would have confronted me if he was,” he replied. “This one happened upon the little void child, however. My father protects her.”
