“I do not understand.”
The Dog General chuckled softly, making the child in his arms smile at the warm tones. “Besides our pack, Sesshoumaru, what else held precedence over my life?”
“Duty and honor.”
Touga nodded as they arrived at the crest of a large hill. Sesshoumaru glanced at his father from the corner of his eye, gauging his solemn expression. “Your point?”
“As it stands, I am Sou’unga’s keeper. Though I may appear as I once did, I do not possess the power I had in life.”
“And?”
“Sou’unga will not stay dormant forever.”
