“Your humans have made you soft, Sesshoumaru. I cannot say that I’m pleased.”

Sesshoumaru’s golden orbs swept from Kagome’s reddened cheeks to his mother’s pale face.

“This one does not care for your opinion, Haha-ue. Pack is pack. I will treat them as such.”

Satomi scowled. “Hmph! Such a rude pup! Why you didn’t inherit your father’s charm, I will never know,” she muttered.

“He takes after you, that’s why,” Kagome replied cheekily, ignoring the two vicious glares directed her way. “Well, he does. Markings and all.”

“…And you, little miko, are not cute.”
