Chapter 143: Jest

A wide grin split Kagome’s face as stared at the vast ocean in wonder. She was sprawled out on the back of Ah-Un, fingers tangled in the dragon’s twin manes. Sesshoumaru sent her a disapproving glance as he hovered nearby on his youki cloud.

“Miko.”

“Oh, right.” She sat up straight but didn’t lose her smile. “You won’t catch me if I slip off again.”

“Hn.”

“…Or were you lying?” she teased.

Sesshoumaru leaned in close. “This one never lies. If you fall, I will go home.”

Kagome’s laughter chimed pleasantly in his ears.
