Pumpkin

These are drabbles written for DDN on October 1st.  My drabbles vary as they are mostly more than 100 words.

Prompt:  Pumpkin

“You want me to what?”

Inuyasha stared dubiously at the object Kagome held out to him.  She had said something about carving a face into it or something.

“Inuyasha! Were you listening to me at all, Kagome groused.

“All I heard was the part where we aren’t looking for jewel shards right now.  I want to carve Naraku’s face, not this…thing.”

“Why must you be such a spoil sport, Kagome sighed, “Even Sesshoumaru’s getting into the spirit.  Why can’t you?”

Looking over at his detested half-brother, Inuyasha saw him almost gleefully carving his ‘pumpkin’ or at least as gleeful as Sesshoumaru ever looks. Focusing a bit closer he realized that the image being engraved looked rather like a mauled version of himself.
