Sesshoumaru watched as she swayed in perfect rhythm to her music, to music he heard yet couldn't find. He strode over to Kagome and sat down, leg propped up in his usual manner. Sesshoumaru looked her over, eyes closed, lips turned up at the corners in a small smile, legs folded and her 'math book' lay all but forgotten on her lap, she was fiddling with one of the pages.

He took note of the tiny, shiny, little blue box pinned to her shirt and the string connecting it to the pebble like things in her ears and it occurred to him, he's never asked her about her home. He cleared his throat in order to get her attention just as a new beat started to play, he was ignored.

She began humming. He cleared his throat again. He was still ignored.

“Miko.” He poked and prodded her with his youki, she kept on singing.

“Oh...” Kagome stopped and looked up at Sesshoumaru, then to his hand and the ear piece in his hand. “I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you were there.”

“Clearly.” He let the ear piece fall. Kagome took the other ear piece out of her ear and un-clipped the music player from her shirt, after wrapping the cord around it she tucked it way in her pack. And looked up at him, he seemed to be studying her.

“Er-” she under his gaze she asked, “is there something I can do for you?”

“This Sesshoumaru has agreed to become your pack leader per your request yet,” he paused “it has occurred to this Sesshoumaru that he knows almost nothing about you.”

She mentally whistled, That's a mighty big sentence for you. “Oh? What would you like to know?”

“Where do you go after you jump into the well?”

Kagome leaned back against the tree she had been sitting under. “Well, I go home.” She looked up him and smiled at his quirked brow, “To Tokyo the is, er, Edo, but five hundred years in the future.” He nodded, silently asking her to continue.

“I was pulled through the well on my fifteenth birthday by a centipede demon, ugly... naked little-big thing,” She cringed. “Hmm, oh, in Tokyo there are buildings that are taller than you in your true form!” He snorted, not believing it.

“It's all built by humans too!” She beamed, he glared, she laughed. “If you don't believe me I could show you or you could just wait five hundred years.”

“This Sesshoumaru would like to see them now.”

“Oh, ah, the only way I could take you with me is,” she paused. “You know that rosary around Inuyasha's neck?” She leaned forward and looked up at him, “That is the only way he is able to get through to my time... I could get you one but I really, really don't want to die.” Sesshoumaru nodded and stood up, ready to patrol around his growing pack's camp. Kagome watched as he disappeared into the forest. She thought before calling out.

“It doesn't have to be sit-”thud “you know! You could have a much, much different word if you ever decide you want to go.” She kind of hoped he would change his mind, she would love to show someone her home, someone who wasn't Inuyasha. Mama would just love his fur.
