Sesshoumaru leaned back against his locker and pulled his girlfriend into him as they hung out with friends during lunch – the topic this afternoon – stupid people.

Kagura elbowed her boyfriend, Naraku, giggling as she told a story about some girl she knew who had been listening to a friend of their family tell a story about how she'd been attacked by a nest of black widow spiders... and then promptly asked the girl if she'd survived the attack – with a completely straight, serious face.

Sesshoumaru scoffed, while Kagome laughed, as did their other friends. Inuyasha, on the other hand, didn't get the joke.

Somehow, after a while, the talk turned to more serious subjects, like Joan of Arc, the topic of their newest chapter in their world history class.

The conversation went on for some time, and then Inuyasha, who'd disappeared at the beginning of the conversation to go to the bathroom and had just returned, piped excitedly up with, “Oh, yeah, Joan of Arc! She was married to that crazy guy who built that huge boat for all those animals, right? My girlfriend is one of those Christians, and she told me about him. Noah, I think she said his name was.”

The silence in the hall was absolute.

A/N: Useless factoid: 70% of Americans think that Joan of Arc was Noahs wife. This is a true statistic, people. I had to use it, I just couldn't resist.
