Prompt: Without a Doubt

Not Your Typical Guy

Kagome Higurashi had had her doubts about developing a relationship with a Hideo Nakamura. He was an average guy, a seemingly unassuming man. Even his job was unassuming; an everyday businessman who fixed IT problems whenever it was necessary. And of course, he still lived with his family. Even when people saw them walking down any street, bystanders would stop and stare at them. Perhaps, they wondered what Kagome, a stunningly beautiful woman with the most gorgeous rare blue eyes ever seen on a Japanese woman could ever see in someone like Hideo Nakamura, a rather average man. Not only that, she just happened to come from a long line of priests and mikos.

However, unbeknownst to everyone, including Kagome, Hideo Nakamura was no average man, nor was his life unassuming. His family wasn’t an average family either. And his girlfriend would find out in a most unusual way.

But before the truth would reveal itself, Kagome was on another date with Hideo. It had been a few months since they had first met at a small café. There was something about Hideo that intrigued her at the time. She couldn’t put her finger on it and until now, she still couldn’t. However, it didn’t matter to her as she was enjoying this date as she did on her past dates with him.

Soon, Hideo decided that it was time to take their relationship to the next level. However, he wasn’t sure if Kagome would want that. Well, he wouldn’t know for sure unless he asked. And so, he took his chances and asked. He was ecstatic when Kagome accepted. They celebrated by going out to a very fancy restaurant. It was strange that Kagome never questioned how he could afford such a place; not that it mattered. She began to fall in love with him.

As those feelings surfaced, Hideo had some doubts hidden deep within. Now that their relationship was official, he knew he had to come clean as to who and what he really was. The question was; would she still love him no matter what? Would she be able to trust him? The answers would come soon as dinner was served.

Kagome couldn’t help but notice the pensive look on his face. “Hideo, is something wrong? You look like you’re deep in thought.”

He was snapped out of his nagging thoughts. “Oh, I’m sorry for worrying you like that, koi. I was just thinking about stuff.”

“Is this stuff serious or a minor thing?”

“Just things in general. Um, how’s the food?”

“This is absolutely delicious. I’ve never eaten food like this. I was wondering how you’re able to afford it with your salary. But I could care less. It was really nice of you and doesn’t change anything. I still love you no matter what.”

“A-and I love you as well. Before we progress even further than we already have, there are some things I want to tell you. I-I just want to come clean. No secrets between us.”

“Ok, shoot.”

“W-well, what if I told you that I’m not really human but a t-taiyoukai born before the Sengoku Jidai, would you believe me?”

Kagome giggled at the thought, although her senses were on high alert. Of course, she unwittingly ignored them as she was completely untrained. “You? A taiyoukai? That’s a bit farfetched, don’t you think?”

“What if it wasn’t? That youkai have existed for centuries?”

“You’re not serious. Youkai don’t exist. Then again, mikos, monks and priests still exist to this day. And I actually do come from a long line of holy people.”

A sigh escaped his lips. “It’s all right if you don’t believe me. Just forget I mentioned it. Let’s enjoy this dinner. I don’t want to burden you with this. It’s supposed to be a fun night.”

Kagome shrugged and smiled. “All right, it’s supposed to be about us. I’m having a great time by the way. Why don’t you ask for the check so we can get out of here? I really want some alone time with you.”

Hideo swallowed hard at this. Little did she know that something deep inside him had awakened and was yearning to be free from this ‘prison’. He had no idea how long he could keep the façade going. It wouldn’t last much longer. “S-sure.”

He did just that. Hideo paid the check and the couple left the restaurant. On the way, they were accosted by a group of three men who apparently were looking for easy targets. The ‘leader’ looked the two up and down. “Well, well, look at what we have here, a hot chick and a geek. What an interesting pair. What say you give us all your money? Or maybe we could have a piece of that sweet ass.”

Hideo tried his best not to glare at them. “I-I really don’t think that’s a good idea either way. Wh-why don’t you just let us go and we can forget that this ever happened?”

“Sorry, dude. I don’t think we can do that. You see, we noticed you coming out of that fancy little restaurant and we know you got a little something. So hand it over, or else.” The leader snapped his fingers and in an instant, Kagome was grabbed by the other two men. “Or we take the bitch instead.”

Kagome, of course, was not one to take being grabbed. “Hey, let go of me. We’ll give you what you want. Please give them what they want, Hideo.”

Hideo dug into his pockets for his wallet. Luckily, he had his credit cards and anything else with his personal information in his home. As they say, ‘better to be safe than be sorry’.

“H-here, you can have the money. Please, just let my girlfriend and I go.”

The leader grabbed the wallet and counted the money inside. He whistled at the amount. “Damn, dude, what line of work are you in?”

“I-I’m just your average businessman. That’s all.”

“Bullshit. Since you’re such a generous guy, we’ll just take the chick too.”

Kagome struggled even more against her captors, her powers starting to rise to the surface. Seeing her struggle and her aura flaring on and off apparently struck a nerve in the usually calm and quiet businessman. “You can’t have her. She’s with me.”

“Think again, you little dipshit. Strip her down, guys. I’ll take care of this jerk-off.” The leader threw a punch at Hideo, which never hit its target as he grabbed his wrist, the businessman’s hand holding the thug’s wrist in a vice-like grip.

If Hideo’s back wasn’t facing Kagome, she would have seen his eyes glow a golden color. She couldn’t hear the rising growl coming from him either. Neither did she notice the deepening of his voice.

“She’s mine.” Hideo’s grip tightened until he could feel the bones of his adversary’s wrist grind to the point of nearly breaking. The thug leader started to whimper in pain.

The other two who were struggling to keep Kagome still released her to rush their leader’s aid, unknowingly causing her to hit her head against the wall behind her, knocking herself unconscious.

Hideo then tossed the leader overhead, knocking the other two thugs down. However, he wasn’t finished with them as he wanted to inflict some serious damage to these three, to ensure that they would never forget this night, that they would never prey upon anyone else. He looked beyond the thugs to see Kagome knocked unconscious, much to his dismay and his fortune. The businessman shed his average façade to reveal his true form; a tall youkai with flowing silver hair and glowing golden eyes. A pair of maroon stripes adorned both cheeks, topped with an indigo crescent moon on his forehead.

“You will never touch her for she is mine.” With that said, he cracked his knuckles, beckoning them to try to take him. The thugs soon pulled out their knives and charged him. ‘Hideo’ quickly disarmed them, breaking several bones in the process. His fingernails grew into deadly claws that started to glow a bright green, forming a whip seemingly made of light. He proceeded to whip their bodies until they were covered in burning, oozing welts.

The youkai was quite pleased with his work and loomed over the three. “Let this be a lesson to you vile beasts. You are no longer the predators. Yes, you are now prey, my prey. If I ever see or hear you try to prey upon the innocent, I will hunt you down like the prey that you have become. Now leave.”

The thugs, having learned their most painful lesson and the fronts of their pants wet, struggled to get up and leave. ‘Hideo’ had a feeling he wouldn’t see those three again. He sighed as he reverted back to the guise of the businessman as Kagome regained consciousness.

A groan of pain was heard as he rushed to help Kagome up. She saw that the thugs were gone. “What happened while I was out?”

“Oh, I took care of them. Are you ok?”

“I’m fine. I probably have a bump on my head from when I hit the wall. H-how did you manage to take care of them?”

“W-well, I defended myself. I just happened to have learned some self-defense. And I couldn’t let them hurt you.”

“Wow, there are so many things I have yet to find about you. I have a feeling there’s more to you than what you let on.”

Hideo sighed at this. ‘You have no idea how right you are, Koi. But all will be revealed soon, very soon.’

“Anyway, no one got hurt except those hooligans. I’ll take you home.”

“Ok, but I want you to stay the night with me. I really don’t want to be alone. Besides, I want to take this relationship even further.”

The businessman smiled. “O-ok, sure. You won’t have to deal with people like that as long as I’m around.”

Kagome giggled at this. “You can be so cute when you act all brave.”

Hideo only rubbed the back of his head and laughed nervously. “Well, I try. Shall we go?”

“Yeah, let’s get out of here.” They soon left the alley and headed to Kagome’s home. When they arrived, Kagome pounced on Hideo, kissing him and stripping him of his clothes as they entered the door. The shocked businessman followed suit. The untrained miko wasn’t joking when she wanted to take their relationship to the next level. Soon, they left a trail of discarded clothes, which led to her bedroom.

Kagome was amazed at her boyfriend’s prowess. She was even more amazed at his physique. Who would have thought he hid that kind of body underneath those suits? There was that saying ‘looks can be deceiving’. It definitely held true in this case.

The miko then did some enticing things to Hideo, causing him to growl with pleasure. Kagome paused for a moment. Since when did Hideo growl like an animal?

“H-Hideo, a-are you all right?”

“I’m fine. Why do you ask?”

“I could have sworn I heard you growling.”

“I-I don’t growl.”

“You just did.”

“P-perhaps there’s a first time for everything. Just continue where you left off. That felt real good, koi.”

Kagome proceeded to do just that. Her ministrations only escalated Hideo’s arousal as his growls grew louder and more animalistic. She gasped as his eyes shot open, revealing a golden glow. “H-Hideo?”

His body began to glow a light green and transform, becoming even more powerful and defined. Short brown hair began to lengthen and lighten into brilliant silver. His fingernails grew into sharp deadly claws and his canines lengthened into fangs. A pair of maroon stripes started to set in on each cheek, near his wrists, his hips and ankles. The transformation ended with an indigo crescent moon adorning his forehead and red lining his eyelids.

Kagome couldn’t believe what was before her. Instead of an awkward average human businessman, there lay a youkai, whose beauty put her beauty to shame. “You weren’t kidding about the taiyoukai bit, were you? Your name isn’t really Hideo Nakamura, is it?”

‘Hideo’ sighed at this. And he was rather enjoying Kagome’s attention. He never meant for things to turn out the way they did. “Now you know the truth. And no, my name isn’t really Hideo Nakamura. My true name is Sesshomaru Taisho, once Lord of the Western Lands.”

“I had a feeling there was more to you than what you let on.”

“And now that you know, does this change things between us, Kagome?”

Kagome sighed. “Well, I absolutely hate when people keep secrets from me. But I guess it forces me to see our relationship in a different light. I still love you no matter what. Now, less talking and more about taking this relationship even further. And in the future, I don’t want any secrets, ok?”

“Hn.” Sesshomaru then pounced on Kagome. “Now it’s my turn.” Kisses turned into caressing, fondling and then things took a turn for the intense. Groans and moans turned into growls mixed in with grunts, howls and cries of pleasure. The night ended with Kagome’s and Sesshomaru’s auras flaring and becoming one. Sesshomaru bent down to bite her at the juncture between her neck and shoulder, marking her as his mate.

They both collapsed on the bed, completely exhausted. Kagome just had the night of her life. She had no idea that this average businessman was the guise of a powerful, not to mention sexy, taiyoukai. At least, their relationship was taken to a higher level than what she expected.

Both of them had had their doubts coming into their relationship. However, tonight all lingering doubts vanished as they held each other. Of course, there would be discussions about engagement rings, youkai matings, and wedding dates. For now, all that could wait until tomorrow. First off, they would definitely have to meet each other’s families. From there, they would face the future, free of doubts.

End

That’s it for this little ditty. I have some very stiff competition from r0o. If you like this, then vote for it. Every vote would be appreciated. Later ^_^
