"I nominate Koga!!" Ayame, the head cheerleader squealed as the sensei asked who will be the new class president.

"Come now class, someone must run against Koga-san." Koga, the quarterback, smirked devilishly and showed a hint a fang as he looked around the class. No one would run against the most popular boy in school.  Kaede sighed as she looked around the classroom. Looking over the class, and judging by proper qualification, Kaede made a decision. "Sesshomaru, ye shall be Kouga's opponent." Kaede wrote his name next to Koga's on the board.

Sesshomaru jumped at his name. He knew he should have been closer attention, but briefly, Kagome's blue eyes rested gently on him as Kaede-sensei had called his name. He had been staring at Kagome and not really paying attention to what the teacher said. As the bell rang, Kaede-sensei gave them a safety briefing and warned them about the no running in the hallways rule. Sesshomaru was packing his thing when he noticed Kagome leave and saw she had dropped one of her books on the floor. He picked it up and stared it. This was his chance. The opportunity to finally get up the nerve to talk to girl of his dreams.

Sesshomaru walked his way to quad and his two closest friends waited for him. Jaken and Ahun saw the name on the textbook and immediate tried to give him tips and hints on the right things to say to Kagome as he stood a few feet away from her huddle of friends. Kikyo, Rin, and Sango all giggled he stood there, he fantasized about how she would take the book and smile at his joke, but seeing her dazzling smile and open expression, he chickened out and turned and ran. Stumbling in front of the Kagura, one of the cheerleaders and then slamming into one of the professors, he dropped the book and quickly snatched it back up. The professor looked down at him and gave him detention for running on school grounds.

Jaken and Ahun had also managed to get detention as well and they made it as bearable as possible. The next day, he stood in front of her locker as his classmate passed him by. He would do it. He would give her the book then. He waited for her head to be stuck and the locker before reaching over her shoulder and handing it to her. He quickly snatched his hand away and hurried away before she could recognize him.

He quickly hurried to class and fantasized about how great her hair had smelled.

They may say some awful things

But there's no point in listening

That I believe in afterwards.

After lunch, he went to set up his campaign booth with the help of Jaken and Ahun. They handed out flyers and buttons and across the way, he could see Kagome writing her journal. Sesshomaru completely ignored the chaos erupting around him as he watched her focus on her writing. Sesshomaru watched the way the sunlight glistened over her dark locks as she tilted her head in concentration. He didn't even feel when one of cheerleaders flung one of his own campaign buttons back at him or when one of the more stranger students licked on of his flyers. His total focus was simple on the beauty of Kagome in that one moment.

Jaken took some of the campaign ballets that were all checked Sesshomaru and walked toward the voter's table. With deliberation, he "accidently" knocked some of the books off the table and as the counter reached to get them, he stuffed the fake votes into the box before calmly strolling away.

Sesshomaru stood on stage and gave his platform for why he should be voted president. He had some good valid points, but knew it was lost cause do to his lack of popularity. Most in the crowd ignored what he said completely. When they gave his partner the floor, the imbecile stated that he knew what the school needed, more trophies that he'd win. The crowd went wild and cheered madly while Koga soaked up the praise. Lady Kaede came to front and calmed the crowd before annoucing that Koga was the winner. Koga actually acted surprised and jumped up with a fist pump as the confetti fell around him and fans poured onto the stage to cheer him on.

Sesshomaru angrily ripped his campaign button off and threw it in the trash can. He changed out his suit he wore and walked back to his locker. He stood by a trash can as he watched Kagome throw his campaign button in that very trash can. He watched as Koga walked up behind Kagome and started making lewd gestures and fake humping her from behind. Sesshomaru grinded his molars in outrage. No one and definitely no one messed with his girl.

Sesshomaru formed a plan. A plan that would finally make Kagome notice him. He quickly made his way to a computer and made some phone calls. He posted flyers everywhere in big bold red letters 'FOOTBALL GAME CANCELLED'.

He acquired Jaken and Ahun help and had Kagome brought to the empty football field. He strapped on his guitar and Jaken picked his and Ahun went to his drums. Sesshomaru opened his mouth sang:

The marching band began to play and join in our performance while he watched her.

The fireworks erupted in the background as he sang. Kagome pointed at him and then at her and mouthed 'You like me?' Sesshomaru could only smirked and nod as continued to play the guitar for her and sing.

The football team obvious couldn't read or didn't the memo because they charged through the cancelled sign and stared at the big affair in confusion, but quickly recovered as they spotted the band dorks messing up their field. The coach blew the whistle and the football team charged toward the band members. Even through the chaos and discord, Sesshomaru only focused on Kagome and continued to sing and play to her.

As his song drew to close, Sesshomaru placed his guitar down and walked into the stands. He reached for Kagome's and together, they walked out of the arena, oblivious to chaos around them because they only had eyes for each other.
