This drabble was written for Smittee’s Alphabet challenge.

She waited for him, the girl’s movements almost saccadic in comparison as she moved, letting the pensive inu walk out of the hut. Chewing on her much abused lower lip Kagome looked up, trying in vain to make Sesshomaru look at her. He said nothing, still pondering whether the hags’ words were of any value, the obscurity of the nonetheless vivid images they painted meaning that once again he found himself at a crossroads. An unfavourable position for a strategist of his calibre.

“Sesshomaru? I want to explain..”

“There is no need.”

“But, if you would only listen...”

“I shall not repeat myself.”

Shoulders slumping, she drew a deep breath, acutely feeling a feverish shiver that passed down her spine. Her fingers wrung the bottom of her sleeves as she pushed down on the hot tendrils of anger elicited by his coldness. Although it was foolish to expect it, she wanted, no, ardently earned for him to understand. Magenta lids slid downwards as he observed the still girl through golden slits, wondering what the sudden fluctuations in her scent heralded.

“Fine. Then you leave me no choice.”

Sesshomaru snarled as she thrust her hand towards him, making him wonder whether she was so foolish as to attempt to harm him in any way. His own hand rising, deadly elongated claws gleaming in the light of the setting sun, the inu clasped his digits around her wrist only to feel them close into a fist. Golden eyes widening as his fingers met no resistance, connecting with air rather than the expected appendage, Sesshomaru belatedly realised that her cool palm now rested on his forehead. His vision blurring, he heard her whisper “They say that the only way to make one believe is to show them. Forgive me.”

His vicious roar sounding foreign, Sesshomaru’s body fell numb as darkness consumed the Lord of the West.

It's so annoying when men do not listen. Well this one has no choice mwahaha.
