Opening her eyes, Kagome blinked in surprise. She was surrounded by trees, lots and lots of lush, green trees. It’s a forest.

She noticed smoke rising above and followed hoping to find someone who could explain. She gasped in horror when her eyes took in the sight. Dozens of people lay strew about, mostly dead or injured. The fires licked the sky. Covering her mouth with her palm she stopped at the first group of people she came to.

A young man moaned in agony and grabbed his charring leg. His violet eyes stared right through her and he screamed.
