The first thing Kagome noticed when she woke was darkness. I can’t have been asleep for long. The second, something was very wrong.

Sesshoumaru’s keen eyes met hers when they glanced his way. Of course he’s awake.

Miroku and Sango were both still sleeping. Odd. If she could tell something was wrong, why wouldn’t they be awake? She gaped when Inuyasha’s shoulders slumped over the Tessaiga. Hadn’t he felt it too?

Awareness dawned on her and she hissed into the darkness. “What the hell do you think you’re doing!”

Pressure around her intensified and a husky voice confessed, “Testing you.”
