Sesshoumaru knew he shouldn't have left this job for Jaken. The imp was useless- a moron. When Kagome had put up her barrier to keep both the imp and his nintoujou out, she had settled herself in for a night of peaceful sleep.

His first instinct had been to head straight for the girl, but he fought against it. Inuyasha had suggested there was a possibility that, he, Sesshoumaru, might actually care for her. But that was impossible. It was her power that had him looking for a way to save her.

Or at least that's what he told himself.
