Inuyasha didn't understand. He'd already told Sesshoumaru there was nothing he could do to prevent things from progressing. He wouldn't allow Sesshoumaru the satisfaction of coming out of this the hero.

It wasn't normal. Sesshoumaru had gotten his answer, now he could leave, but something was holding him there. Inuyasha wondered just what that thing was.

“You are free to leave now. I've told you I won't let you save me. There's nothing you can do to change that.”

Sesshoumaru refused to accept that. If Kagome continued down the path she was headed she would-
