Sesshoumaru pondered over his next words very carefully. He watched Inuyasha for any sign that might give him away. Surprise; Fear; Anything to let him know Inuyasha knew more than he was letting on. If he did, he wasn't letting it show.

“Shippou has spoken with her. He is certain whatever it takes to save you will be at a great personal cost to her.”

Of course, Shippou had told him nothing of the sort, but Sesshoumaru was no fool. And he had a fairly good idea of how things would end up when all was said and done.
