Before she could even process the change the air surrounding them shifted. Kagome tried not to panic but her emotions were in an uproar. Sesshoumaru’s chest rumbled with his disapproval. “Enough.” His tone was gentle but commanding.

“Do not fight me.”

Only then, did Kagome realize why she recognized this change. His youki surrounded them; pressing in against her like it might suffocate her. He’s trying to overpower me. As soon as she understood she stopped fighting. Sesshoumaru asked for her trust. So I must.

Sharing a smile with a smirking Sesshoumaru, she knew he realized it too.

It’s working.
