Even if Sesshoumaru didn’t see it, Kagome knew there was something more to him than that. Even if he blamed her, she could never punish him in kind. He wanted to save Inuyasha’s life.

“Why.”

Kagome smiled her sad smile, in a way that only she could. “Because that’s not who I am.”
