Rousing her from sleep proved troublesome. He’d never actually tried waking her from her sleeping state any other time, convinced she deserved it. He didn’t know where to begin. Resigning himself to the inevitable fact that he would need to use some type of force to wake her, he did so.

Shaking her had no effect. Insulting her, even less.

Shippou would be no help in this matter. He was still off sulking somewhere within the castle. Kneeling beside her bed, he let his youki surround them. Though he intended her no harm, he was betting she would think otherwise.
