Small Victories

Neither backed down from their silent fight until finally, Sesshoumaru huffed and turned away. Kagome let a small smile grace her features and turned to Shippou.

With so little time left, I’ll take all the simple victories I can get. You won’t be able to break me again Sesshoumaru, I can promise that.

Things between them weren’t over, not by a long shot. But Kagome would deal with that when the time came. For now, she simply wanted a place to relax and gather her thoughts. She needed to think clearly before she approached him.

One step at a time.
