Chapter 1

Ok I’ve been going through a tough time lately so I’ve decided to start a new fanfic…again hopefully this one will go a lot better than the last.

            “Sango can I talk to you…alone?” Kagome asked quietly hopping to not draw attention to the two of them. Sango nodded and quickly gathered some bathing supplies and started to walk off towards the nearby hot springs. Once there they stripped down and settled into the water.

            “What did you want to talk with me about Kagome?” Sango asked after she had washed and settled back into the water.

            “I feel like I don’t belong with you guys anymore.” She stated quietly looking down and swirling her fingers around in the water.

            “What do you mean?” Sango asked looking at her sister like friend.

            “Well, you have Miroku, you’re with him all the time and you’re able to…be with him. And Inuyasha, he has Kikyou. Who am I to be with?” She asked quietly. Tears blurred her vision as her thoughts continued to turn around in her head.    

            “Kagome you’ll find someone I can feel it.” Sango stated as she pulled her friend into a hug.

            “You don’t get it!” Kagome shouted as she pushed her friend away. “I travel back and forth through time! I don’t have time to go out on dates and I’m not even sure I’m going to make it through the final battle.”

            “What makes you say that?” She asked looking at her friends cloudy eyes.

            “I just have this feeling. Oh Sango I don’t want to die without even having my first kiss!” Kagome wailed as she buried her face in her hands.

            “Kagome it’s going to be ok. I promise.” Sango stated as she wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

            Walking back into camp, Sango and Kagome we both surprised when Kikyou was sitting by the fire next to Inuyasha. Looking down at her feet she made her way to her sleeping bag and curled up beside Shippo. Sighing lightly she closed her eyes preparing for sleep.

            “Goodnight momma.” Shippo whispered sleepily.

            “Goodnight Shippo.”

            “Momma” Shippo asked quietly as he shook Kagomes shoulder. Rolling over Kagome moaned lightly and blocked her eyes from the sun.

            “Get up wench we’re leaving.” Inuyasha stated. Sitting up quickly Kagome looked around the camp. The fire was doused and everything was packed up.

            “Why didn’t you wake me for breakfast?” She asked as she stretched and yawned.

            “We tried but you didn’t even move so we decided to let you sleep.” Sango stated.

            “Oh…well I guess we better head out.” She sated. Inuyasha snorted and looked away as Kagome packed away her sleeping bag. Once ready to leave Inuyasha crouched down and let Kikyou onto his back.  Looking over at Sango she saw that Miroku and she were on Kirara. Deciding it would be for the best she started to jog though often having to lag behind.

            ‘It really seems like they don’t care.’ Kagome thought to herself. ‘Maybe I should just leave the group and go out on my own.’

            Her thoughts were pushed from her mind as a snake demon jumped out in front of them. Sighing she readied her bow and looked for the jewel shards that the demon most likely possessed. Finding none she sighed and failed to notice the snake’s tail come up behind her until she was flung miles away from the group.

            Landing on the hard ground she felt twigs and pine needles dig into her back a she slid across the ground. Coming to a rolling stop she stared at the quickly fleeting sky as unconsciousness captured her.

            Walking along in front of her Lord, Rin skipped and picked flowers as she searched for that special one she was to give her Lord today. Reaching down to pick a flower she noticed something on the petal. It looked like a red rain drop and after looking around she found more of it and concluded it was…

            “Blood! Lord Sesshomaru there’s blood here!” Jaken screeched as he ran circles around in the dirt. Coming up behind the pair, Sesshomaru sniffed the air and grimaced internally. He knew that smell and since that smell was pack to someone who was regrettably family he had to make sure that she was taken care of. Once again sighing internally he followed the path of blood until he found the bruised and battered body that was Kagome.

            “Lord Sesshomaru it is the blasted half-breeds wench!” Jaken yelled.

            “Hn.” Bending down he picked up the frail girl and turned to face his other two companions. “Get on Au-Un we shall be heading back to the manor.”

            Rin nodded and did as told while Jaken mumbled and cursed. Looking back to make sure his companions were on the two headed dragon, he took off.

            Slowly opening her sore eyes, Kagome looked around the room. Seeing the elaborate curtains blocking out the morning sun she smiled before sitting up quickly.

            “What the hell!” She yelled as she quickly laid back out for the pain in her chest. Gasping for breath she looked towards the door as it opened softly. A small woman with black hair and green eyes walked into the room.

            “Miss are you ok?” She asked softly. Kagome nodded before she looked back up at the ceiling.

            “Where am I?” she asked.

            “Lord Sesshomarus palace.” The woman stated as she began to clean the room and set out clothes.

            “L-lord Sesshomaru?” She squeaked. The woman nodded before she looked back at Kagome.

            “I shall go alert him to your awakening.” She stated and before Kagome could retaliate the woman was out the door. Sighing Kagome looked around the room and waited for the Ice Lord to make his appearance. After about what she guessed was twenty minutes the door opened and the Ice Lord strode into the room.

            “Why am I here?” She asked softly.

            “Is that anyway to show gratitude to the one that saved you.” He stated more than asked.

            “Thanks I guess but you really should have just let me die. No one wants an ugly assed bitch who’s selfish and only thinks of herself and who will never have a guy want her.” Kagome stated tears coursing down her cheeks and her breaths coming out in choked sobs.

            “Hn.” He hummed looking down at her as he moved to the side of the bed. “Who would it be that you just described?”

            “Apparently me.” She whispered looking out the window behind the Lord.

            “And who has said this about you.” He stated looking down at her. Secretly ever since the time in his father’s tomb where she had stood up to him he had been interested in her. Her way of speech and dressing, why she was with his half brother and many other things.

            “Inuyasha.” She whispered brokenly. “I don’t know why you care anyway. Not like I’ll be here much longer.”

            “You will stay here till you have healed properly and have been trained.” He stated.

            “Why keep an ugly ningen in your home?” Kagome asked softly. “I will only cause trouble like I do everywhere else.”

            “Hn. Are you able to be at dinner? Rin wishes to see you.” He stated.

            “I don’t know I tried to sit up earlier and it caused me to almost pass out.” Kagome said as she looked up at him.

            “Hn.” (He says that a lot doesn’t he?) bending down beside the bed he wrapped his one arm under her legs before telling her to place her arm around his neck. Wincing and whimpering as the pressure of him lifting her up, Kagome settled herself in his arms…or arm. A sudden feeling of melancholy overcame her as she felt that it was partly her fault for the loss of his left arm.

            “Can you stand?” He asked

            “I can try.” Kagome whispered and suddenly she was on her feet. Gasping at the sudden change she leaned against the wall. Watching him go into what she guessed was the closet she waited until he came back out with a Kimono in his hand. Walking over to Kagome he laid the Kimono on the chair that was conveniently out of Kagomes site. Looking up at the miko he waited.

            “What?” She asked.

            “Undress.” He stated simply as if he were only talking of the weather.

            “Wait!? What!?” She all but screamed.

            “If you can dress by yourself with the pain then be my guest, but if not then undress.”  Sesshomaru repeated.

            “Fine.” Kagome sighed before she undid the tie on the Ukata that she was wearing and slipped it off her shoulders. To her relief the bandages covered her breast and the healer had left her underwear on.

            Waiting until she was undressed fully, Sesshomaru held out the Kimono and waited for her to grab one end. Doing as what was wanted of her she slipped her arm in one of the sleeves and placed her other arm in the other sleeve.  (I’m not too good at explaining the mean of dressing in a kimono so you get my point he dresses her she’s embarrassed.)

            “Thank you.” Kagome whispered a blush dusting her cheeks. Sesshomaru ‘Hn’ed’ before turning and walking out the door.  Assuming he wanted her to follow, Kagome trailed closely behind him.

            “Lord Sesshomaru!” A voice yelled and an orange, cream and black blur attached itself to Sesshomarus legs.

            “Good morning Rin.” He stated as he patted the girls hair. Rin looked behind her lord and spotted the girl behind him.

            “Who’s the pretty lady?” She asked as she tugged on Sesshomarus pant leg and pointed at Kagome.

            “Hi, my names Kagome. Can you tell me yours?” Kagome asked as she knelt down on the floor. The girl nodded before she slowly made her way to stand in front of Kagome.

            “Rins…I mean my name is Rin.” She stated softly looking down at her toes.

            “You have a very pretty name Rin.” Kagome said as she smiled at the girl.

            “Are you eating breakfast with us?” Rin asked hopefully.

            “Yes Rin I will be eating with you guys this morning.” Kagome stated with a small smile. Rin squealed and hugged the woman and ran back to her lord. Grabbing Sesshomarus hand she started to pull him along. Though in Kagomes view she was like a puppy trying to run away while the master still held the lease.
