“What do you mean you’re not going to school with us?” Kagome practically screeched. Sesshoumaru looked on at the angered girl and sighed lightly.

“I am a year older, Kagome, it is natural that I be in Middle School now.” He informed her as he plucked at his uniform distastefully.

The little girl’s lower lip wobbled lightly and it took everything she had not to cry.

Sesshoumaru, by now used to her displays of emotion, opened his arms and allowed her to fly at him with all the sadness of a mourning child.

Inuyasha looked on with an eye roll and a light ‘feh’.

“It’s not fair! I want to go to Middle School too!”

Sesshoumaru patted her head and buried his nose lightly in her hair, inhaling slowly, soothing himself as well as her.

Honestly, he was a little nervous leaving behind the young ningen.

She got into trouble walking into her yard and now she was going to be in school… with just Inuyasha?

It was a frightening concept.

He reluctantly pulled himself from her and quickly composed himself.

A youkai must remain poised after all.

“You must be strong, Kagome. I will see you after school.” He stated lightly, patting her head as she sniffled.

She nodded lightly, wiped her tears, and moved beside Inuyasha.

“No worries, ‘Gome! I’ll take care of you!” Inuyasha exclaimed loudly.

That’s what I’m afraid of, Sesshoumaru thought lightly as he watched them walk into an opposite car to his. Golden eyes watched as their car drove them to the Elementary School. Running a hand through his silver locks, the inu-youkai headed into his own vehicle which would take him to the Middle School.
