Sesshomaru sighed, happily snuggled up with his new wife. There were now on their honeymoon, spending time in the mountains because Sesshomaru did not want to deal with other people interrupting. He had promised Kagome that he would take her somewhere fun after he had his fill of being alone with her. Even Dolly was staying behind, watched by Kagome’s friend Sango. As the wedding had been statically planned, they still had enough break from school to have both time together and fun. Sesshomaru had gotten permission from his boss to take the time off as long as he worked on some of it every few days.

“Sesshomaru?” Kagome mumbled into his neck.

“Hmm?” He ran his hand down her back and wondered if he could just drift into sleep. Kagome did not seem to want to go along with his ideas, instead she was getting up.

“I think I hear someone at the door.” She said, searching the room for something presentable to wear. Sesshomaru reluctantly got out of bed and found a pair of jeans to pull on. Together, Sesshomaru and Kagome headed for the door. Sesshomaru reached it first and pulled it open. When he saw no one, his eyes went down and he found black beady eyes looking back at him.

“Caw!”

The crow flapped its wings twice before hopping off of the doorstep. Sesshomaru frowned after it while Kagome leaned down and picked up a paper that was on the ground.

“Join St. Bally’s Animal Shelter’s Annual Race to the Finish. The prize this year will be one purebred male Dalmatian puppy.” Kagome read out loud. She looked up at Sesshomaru with a serious face. “We have to do this.”

Sesshomaru just stared at her.

“Didn’t you see the crow? It had three legs! Crows with three legs are said to show when the Gods are interfering in human lives.” Kagome handed him the paper. Sesshomaru looked at it to see that the event was in three days.

So much for relaxing.
