Sesshomaru was bored. Not just bored, he was close to just falling asleep in self defense.

Sesshomaru was sitting at the table in his kitchen while Kagome and her mother talked nonstop on the other side of the table. Her mother had arrived a few hours earlier along with Kagome’s little brother and her grandfather. Her grandfather had thrown holly water at Sesshomaru the second they had met and tried to use a messily written charm, supposedly to banish the demon from him. Sesshomaru had ignored him completely and Kagome had somehow gotten the man to calm down. Sesshomaru sort of wished that he still had the old man there to entertain him, but he was busy watching some strange monk documentary on Sesshomaru’s TV.

Sesshomaru tried to focus back on the woman but words seemed fuzzy to him for some reason, making him unable to understand, but he figured he got the gist of it when Kagome held up a wedding cake book and pointed to a huge pink cake. Her mother shook her head and turned the page and pointed at a different one, this one white but with what seemed like little hearts along the side. They chattered away and Sesshomaru wondered why Kagome had wanted him to stay for this.

“I must have died and gone to heaven to be among such angels.”

Sesshomaru turned his head to see that his father was standing in the doorway, eyes shining at the two women. They broke off conversing and smiled in his direction.

“How flattering.” Kagome’s mom said without seeming embarrassed at all. Kagome, on the other hand, was blushing. Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes on Toga when he went around the table and stopped in front of Kagome. With a flourish, he took out a flower and handed it to her before taking out another and handing it to her mother. Both women took the flowers with delight.

“It is a Peony, the symbol of feminine beauty.” Toga puffed out his chest at their thanks. Sesshomaru got up from the table and moved to Kagome, who he picked up bridal style and walked out of the room with.

“Sesshomaru! What are you doing?” Kagome asked, exasperated.

“Keeping you all to myself.”
