Her Ever After…

“Fuck you all.” it was the last thing that left her pale lips as she clutched to the complete Shikon, her eyes dark, her hair matted with blood, rain, and sweat. She hated them, all of them, those she had once loved, they were dead to her now. She fell to her knees, they rushed over but stopped when she cast them a look of revulsion, a look of contempt. She hated them for every time they had lied to her, every time that they had left her weak when no one would help her when she asked to be made stronger.

She had been forced out by them so they could ‘protect her,’ but it was more like so they could ease their own guilt. They had said ‘she had no reason to be here.’ Well if she hadn’t been pulled down the kami forsaken well in the first place she would have agreed, as it was, she was the one that brought them all together, the miserable curs, and yet they had forsaken her when it got too hard. They had simply wished to push her away so their own minds could be at ease, and protecting her would no longer be their burden. Why couldn’t they see that the Shikon was not their burden to bare. Regardless of their reasons for the fight, the insane spider hanyou had HER cursed marble. That was reason enough that she fought. But now, now that it was over, she hated them, she hated the sadness in their eyes, she hated the way Sango and Shippo cried, she hated how Miroku tried to reason with her, mostly she hated Inuyasha.

When they had cast her aside more then seven years before, she had been but a girl who knew next to nothing, and it had come to her knowledge that the well would no longer let her pass. For whatever reason it saw fit, she was stuck here, in a time not her own, in a place unfriendly, unfair, and they had wanted her to be ‘safe,’ yet they had not even walked her to the well to make sure she made it. Were she anyone else, she would let a brittle hollow laugh spill from her throat, the sound would be so chilling to those that wanted to be near her but could not stand the look she gave them. Back then, she did what any rational teenager would have, she ran and she cried. She didn’t want to go to Keade’s village, they were there, she didn’t want to be around them, around those that had so easily thrown her to the winds.

More then once over the time suppurated she had wished she had never been born, wished for death, yet everything, every moment, brought pain, and knowledge that she was alive for a reason, and not even those foolish members of her former tachi could cast that fact aside. The seven years were spent training, training like she had no reason to live other then to train. She heeded no one, and worked only to perfection, as much as a human could. She went from master to master, until she could learn no more, staying under the radar of anyone that might know her. Her once open unguarded eyes were like hard steel when she saw them again. She felt nothing for them when they’d passed by once or twice over that time.

Without her modern soaps it had appeared that her scent had changed, her eyes were no longer windows to her soul, and her hair was ridiculously long for a time. It had stayed that way until someone had commented on the road that she reminded them of Lady Kikyo. She had taken her sword out right then and cut the hair until it was at the nape of her neck. She would never be Kikyo, and she’d killed the man who said it too. She was not the happy little girl she’d been so long ago. Her former tachi had made it so by casting her aside. Did they not know how dangerous the world really was? She hadn’t but she knew now, the once vibrant world she had lived it was gone, replaced by a world of dull hues.

She’d been raped twice in the seven years, but she’d killed them mercilessly as well when the fools had actually given her the chance to thinking she would cry and ball up like others had before her; she was no one’s anything to use. After they were done with her, they had left her alive, and bleeding, they didn’t know her will to live, or her prowess when hunting. They didn’t known that they had fucked with a tool of the Kami. Yes, she had given into the moniker, if she was to be a tool for their will, then she would be the sharpest and most deadly. She’d enjoyed torturing them, she enjoyed their blood as she opened their bodies with her blade for what they had done to her own walking temple. And her hatred of her former tachi grew more, because she knew hate because of them.

The lands themselves seemed to scream at her for all the strife Naraku was putting it through, she was no fool, with her putting the shard hunt off to train, she had left the beast unchecked. She no longer ran to help every innocent, only stopping when she could make a difference, she didn’t stay days to heal someone, or a village as she might have once done, she only pulled them out of the ruble, and told them to “Head to Edo, there you will find a miko by the name of Keade. The village is well protected.” they would ask her, her name, she would give a broken smile and tell them “She will not need to know, and do not tell the others that you have seen me.” Keade after all had done nothing to wrong her, and it was a perfect place to send them for this reason.

They would leave, and all would be well, but of course over the time there had been those that the dog hanyou had gotten the information out of, and more then once she’d been tracked by the fools that had left her to die in their world simply to ease their own guilt. But she was a ghost when she wanted to be, and if she did not wish to be found, she would not be, not by them. Never by them. Of coarse that meant nothing for other’s. Kouga, the wolf was more of a annoyance then she’d ever truly realized and only after nearly killing him had he relented and given up not only his jewels but his foolish claim on her person. Finally at least he had been smart and not told Inuyasha, as well he’d found his wolf hime, Ayame. She held no ill will towards them.

But the other issue had been the Demon Lord, Sesshomaru. She’d never been his enemy and was more or less simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, not to mention on the arm of the wrong being. She’d run into him more times then not, and had some how become a kindred spirit. She did not give him false smiles, or her once bubbly attitude, and he was not a complete jackass. Slowly over the time, they had what could be called a friendship. He didn’t bother in her affairs, nor did he ask her to stay with him. He didn’t even compliment or critique her fighting style the many times he’d seen it. He didn’t need to but that was no matter. One of her first sensei had been a samurai, right after she had learned everything she could from a miko. She had taken both tutelage's and forced them into one. She became a killing machine, and she was rather good at it.

Whatever it was they had, the Western Lord and herself, it had finally come to a head one evening when a spar between them had become more passionate then dangerous, he’d pinned her to the ground and for whatever reason had kissed her. From there it was a flurry of activities, and bodies pressed upon one another. She had given him, what others had forcibly taken from her. Yet in the morning when light came, she had woken up to him being gone. His own tachi and himself gone in the middle of the night, leaving her alone and abandoned as well. She didn’t blame him nearly as much as she had blamed her own group, she was well aware that he couldn’t understand his feelings, nor had he promised her more. He wouldn’t know what to do with his emotions, and that it had most likely scared him. She didn’t like it, but she did not hate him. That had been a month before.

And then the final battle happened, it had started just that morning, she was late for her own ‘moontime’ as they called it here, but what did she care, she had come for one reason and that was the tama. With the grace of the killer she’d become, she’d easily started in at the back, away from the eyes of her old tachi, away from them all, and started to cut this massive horde of demons down, she didn’t use her powers, she didn’t need to, her skill, and blades alone where enough to deal with them. It had been some time, before Naraku had even noticed she was there. In delight or glee, or even sadism, he sent more her way, hoping to crush her. He had been shocked when an attack like Sesshomaru’s Dragon Strike had been sent his way, decimating those he had sent towards her. A dark angry not so pure pink electricity  had lightening roaring through the battle field as no one’s attacks could.

She had smiled and taunted with her honeyed voice “I learned a new trick or two.” watching as the madman’s smile faded and his anger returned. She didn’t see the faces of her tachi, nor the dog lord, she didn’t care, she wasn’t here for them. It was then that her blades, both of them, were infused with her powers, swinging them with practiced ease, as though simply cutting through air, doing a kanta, a dance, demon after demon fell, she was not winded, and she did not pause to rest. The dark hanyou never felt the barrier go around him but he did feel it when it started to shrink. He did feel it when he started to lose, and as she pressed down upon him he fought back like a caged animal. She didn’t see her tachi or Sesshomaru’s reaction to her being ruthless, she wasn’t there for them, and she didn’t care what they thought.

It was then that the spider hanyou forgot about the rest and went after her alone, the only one he felt a true threat from, and she had smiled at him darkly looking so wrong on her once innocent face, as if she had heard his thought, felt the fear in his body that she created, in a way he’d been correct. A predator always knows its prey’s weakness. She cut him down tentacle by tentacle, and still he came for her, and when she got angry from his attacks she forced the barrier tighter, there was no escape this time, and it was not a puppet. Beyond this the closer she came to the Tama the more pure it became, so as she got within twenty feet of him, he sent a volley of his favored weapons at her, his mass tentacles piercing her body, he had wanted to hear her scream before he was gone from this world, instead she had only smiled, and sent more of her purification into his body.

He burnt away knowing he had been bested by her, the demons gone, she stood her broken bloodied body up, wobbling when it started to rain. She made her way over to the mass of ashen flesh that had once been Japan’s most evil hanyou, and grabbed the tama, she turned to walk away, she had nothing nice to say to the people behind her, so she had nothing to say at all. Seemingly fate though would not have it, she fell to her knees though she didn’t scream out, she didn’t cry like she might have done once before, she almost laughed at how amusing it was. She was weak only because Naraku had taken the rest of them as lightweights and sent his main volley after her. One human girl. She did laugh then, and it was then that they came towards her. She cut her dark angry hateful eyes towards them stopping them in their tracks.

She didn’t pay attention to any of them as the over used well of her power purified the jewel. She looked at the Tama hatefully as well, and cursed Midoriko’s very existence, finding her hellish entrapment not to be punishment enough for all the issues and pain she had caused. Her once tachi though didn’t seem to get it as they once again began to move towards her, she snarled, an animalistic sound, her powers not so over used that she wouldn’t lash out at them. And Kikyo, the walking automaton, thought she was safe to TRY and take her life, how wrong she was. She didn’t see the dark angry whip of light come until it was far too late, and Kagome smirked deadly as she heard the dead miko scream as the souls were freed from her. “Abomination.” Kagome whispered to no one at all.

It was then that they started yelling then that they seemed to think her so different, so many questions, from everyone but the demon lord, and the vulgarity of the hanyou was seriously starting to piss her off. She held up her hand to silence them, and silence fell before her. “Fuck you all.” she said as she stood, not looking back, not explaining, she had no reason to, she got what she came for, and she didn’t care about the rest. She didn’t see their hurt faces, nor did she care to. They didn’t know what she’d been through, what they had put her through. She had no obligations to any of them.

But hanyou’s were stupid things, and of coarse he followed her and so the rest did as well. He didn’t expect to be beaten so quickly or for that matter by her aura alone, seemingly she hadn’t even used her full aura while fighting Naraku, but right now it was painfully wrapped around Inuyasha with the intent to kill. She knew him, knew he was stubborn, he would always come after her, as well as the Tama. He wouldn’t be smart, he wouldn’t back away, and so she took from him his father blood, took from him all that made him a demon, she hurt him like he and the rest hurt her. She felt no pity for him, she was the Shikon Miko, and he was a threat. She told him so as she left them, ‘to care for their friend.’ She had what she came for, and so she didn’t care about anything else.

It would be years before she saw anyone again, when rumors of a miko and three hanyou children surfaced and the demon lord sought her out. She sat there beneath a tree near her well hidden home as though she expected him, and in all truth she honestly had. After the battle, she had absorbed the jewel and all its power. She was no longer a vessel of purity, and as such the jewel and she were alike, pure but tainted, balanced. Taking it into her body as it had once been before, she had unknowingly forced a life of near immortality upon herself, a good thing and a bad. She would see her family again she knew, but she would watch them wither away as well before they died. She was still content though, as she had another family now. Looking at the little girl and two little boys as they played, she felt him long before she saw him.

She turned to him, her hand on the hilt of her swords, she knew his dislike of hanyou and she didn’t put it past him to attempt to take the lives of her children. He surprised her though by sitting next to her in quiet thought, before he picked her up, and placed her in his lap, he didn’t say a word, but his aura did not read dangerously, still she did not let her guard down. And both parents watched their pups, as they played in silence before his voice finally broke it up, “Their names.” he had always had a knack for asking a question as a statement.

“Tsume, Tsumaru and Tsuki.” she answered quietly as he nodded, they were good names, ‘Fang’ his first son, ‘Expert perfection’ for his next and ‘Moon,’ his daughter.

“I will not be able to claim them for a while. They will be in danger from my enemies, and those that wish to use them against me.” he said. She said nothing, she knew this already, and hadn’t expected him to do anything about them, unless it was to kill them.

“You are welcome in their life so long as you please, but if you ever come to hurt them I will kill you.“ she said, and he knew if there was anyone that could, it would be her. He’d unknowingly picked a fantastic bitch for his pup’s mother. They sat in silence once more as the pups settled down and fell into a small conversation between themselves, still not noticing the male with their mother. She finally spoke again. “I would ask that you pay a visit to Totosai, I do not wish to have any of my pups become mindless for their blood.” he gave a silent nod as they slowly worked things out.

“Where will you be?” he asked. Watching as she slowly pulled out a necklace and handed it to him, too many times had some enchantment been given in false pretenses for her to attempt to place it over his head.

“That will always draw you to us.” she answered noticing how her children were asleep, they looked so adorable at the age of seven. Silence once again came towards them, and neither minded. “Anyone, …anyone at all, even another pup of yours, or a mate, should they come after my pups, they will die. You should know that now. I will not be held responsible. But should I find out that you sent them, I will hunt you down after I have rendered them from life.” she said to him softly but her voice like steel. He ‘Hn’d’ knowing she would do so, and he wouldn’t stop her. Intentionally or not, he had fathered pups, and wanted them protected, he had never stopped to try an understand this same thing about his father long ago, and here he had followed the old man to some degree. And though he could no longer smell the mortality of her, he knew his path was not the same. Izayoi had been human, and weak, Kagome was nothing of the sort.

That afternoon, he had somehow worked his way into her pants yet again, he made love to her, and many afternoons to come as well. They were a couple of sorts, she knew he would never be able to commit himself but at the same time she didn’t ask for it. He had followed the charm to their home many times, it led into a hidden valley in his lands, and while he knew all of his lands, this valley was different, the barrier around it not only protected it, but confused travels so that they stayed away from it as well. He’d wondered how she’d managed as such, but she’d only offered him a smile, before he took her once again. She was pupped once more before she knew it, and her previous pups couldn’t have been happier knowing their father and mother were together at least in a way. Life had finally been good to her, as it hadn’t been since she’d been thrown from her tachi.

When Sesshomaru came, she never asked about anything, she was not his mate, or his wife, and she simply enjoyed the time they had together, as well as the time spent with their pups. All five of them. They were all a mix between herself and her male, silver, black or ashen grey hair all around, golden, or golden brown eyes, and all of them bore his crest marks, they were hanyou, yet they were more. Never before had a miko and a daiyoukai coupled, it was improbable that they would even be able to have pups, yet five hanyou stood to say that it was possible. Five hanyou had the powers of both their parents, and five hanyous stood there to say other wise.
