Sangue Lussuria: Blood Lust

~~~*~~~
“You guys, I’m not sure this is such a great idea.”
“Chill, Kagome!” Sango plopped down next to me on the couch and offered me some popcorn. “Kikyou and I aren’t going to let anything happen to you.”
I scowled at her. “You say that now, but we both know that if we go I’ll end up being the one who gets into trouble. Actually, I’m always the one who gets into trouble! I’m telling you it’s a bad idea.
“Kagome, when are you going to get past this paranoia?” Kikyou sat down on my opposite side and handed me a soda. “Not everything is out to get you. Besides, you’re going to be with all your friends. What do you think is going to happen?”
I laid my head against the back of the sofa and groaned. “I don’t know. I just have a really bad feeling about going to that house. It’s been abandoned for god-knows how long and I seriously have no desire whatsoever to go near that place.”
Sango rolled her eyes at me. “The whole point of Halloween is to get scared, Kagome. It’s just an old empty house with creaky floorboards and cobwebs. Yes, it’s a little creepy, but I swear you’ll be fine.”
“Why are you pressuring me? I don’t want to go and you can’t say anything to change my mind!”
“Oh?” Kikyou’s dark eyes glinted evilly and I was suddenly very nervous. “Not even if I told you Inuyasha is coming with us?”
I felt my heart skip more than a few beats. “That’s just playing dirty, Kikyou!”
Said girl shrugged, clearly unconcerned. “Call it what you want. If it convinces you to come, I’m satisfied.”
“Ugh.” I clenched my fingers into fists and decided peer pressure needed to burn and die. “I’m so getting you back for this.”
Sango and Kikyou cheered and high-fived over me. “Don’t worry, Kagome,” Sango said as she laid a comforting hand on my shoulder. “We’ll have a great time.”
For her sake, I hoped she was right.
~~~*~~~

Gods I didn’t want to be here.

Belatedly, I realized how stupid I was to come just because of Inuyasha. One adolescent boy was not worth me becoming part of some slasher movie. And this was totally where a crazed slasher would live, waiting for unsuspecting victims.

What was a house like this doing in Japan, anyway? It looked like it belonged in Romania or something. If a goth kid ever saw this they’d pee their pants.

I yelped when someone touched my arm. “Eyaa!”

“Kagome!” I looked behind me and, after seeing familiar red hair, pressed a hand to my racing heart. “Calm down before you give yourself a coronary!” Ayame laughed. “Look, we aren’t going to be here long, okay? Kouga just wants to check this place out for his party tomorrow and then we can leave.”

“Then why did we all have to come?!” I asked loudly. “He didn’t have to bring a whole posse!”

Ayame huffed and eyed Kouga with a sort of resigned affection. “Even I don’t know why he does some things. He’s definitely a strange one.”

Scoffing, I replied, “That’s for sure. I honestly can’t understand what you see in him.”

“Well, you know what they say about love being blind and all that.” Resting her palms on her hips, Ayame cast me a curious glance. “If you want, I can distract everyone else and you can wait for us out here. You look like you might pass out.”

 I didn’t bother trying to hide my relief. “Have I ever told you how amazing you are?”

She waved dismissively and grinned. “You could stand to mention it more often, but don’t stress it.” She started backing towards the rest of our friends. “We’ll all be right back, so please don’t freak or anything if it takes more than five minutes.”

Nodding, I watched her turn and run to Kouga. Gesturing wildly, she pointed at the house and started pulling her boyfriend while shouting some nonsense about gang graffiti. Within seconds, the yard was clear and I was alone.

I sank to the ground and prayed no one would notice I wasn’t there. I just knew something bad would happen if I went inside that house. Just knew it. And, seeing how I was not one of those unnecessary risk takers, I was perfectly content waiting safely outside.

So I was sitting on the lawn, yanking aimlessly at the grass, when I felt every hair on my body stand on end.

You know that feeling you get when you’re sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that you’re being watched? How your skin erupts in gooseflesh and you get that sickening, nauseous jolt in your stomach? How your hands start to shake from the thundering of your heart and your very blood turns cold?

This was a thousand times worse.

Cautiously, I surveyed my surroundings. The street was well-lit, and I couldn’t see anyone along the sidewalk. The trees circling the goth house were sparse at best and I noticed nothing out of the ordinary so . . .

That left the house itself.

Every instinct I possessed warned me not to look, but it was like I couldn’t even stop myself. If I hadn’t known better, I would say I was forced to look, like phantom hands grasped me by the chin and lifted my head to face the third-story.

For that brief moment, I knew I had no control over my body.

Terror ripped through me, but now I had to see what those phantom hands made me look for. My eyes passed over every third-story window, straining to glimpse anything out of the ordinary, and just as I was ready to give up, a flash of silver-white caught my attention and I felt my thudding heart stop altogether as I stared.

Cruel obsidian eyes glared back at me, set into a face paler than freshly fallen snow and shrouded in blackness.

And I screamed bloody-murder.

“You people are fucking crazy if you think I’m going back there for some stupid Halloween party!” I fumed. “You . . . you didn’t see him. There’s no way in hell I’m ever going near that damn house again.”

“Kagome, Inuyasha and Kouga searched the house after you told us what happened,” Sango said soothingly. “No one else was there.”

I shook my head violently, my long hair whipping as I did. “You’re wrong. You’re wrong. I know he’s there.” I was shaking so hard thinking about it that my voice trembled. “You . . . you can’t imagine . . . I’ve never been so terrified in my entire life.”

“Kagome, darling,” Kikyou began, “you were already nervous before we left. Maybe you just imagined seeing something?” She made it sound like a question. “Paranoia can do that to you.”

I openly gawked at her. “What’re you trying to say? That I’m insane?

“No!” She waved her hands emphatically. “No, no. I don’t think you’re crazy! I just think you were scared. You probably did see something but it wasn’t what you think it was. Your mind was playing tricks on you.”

My brow furrowed as her words sank in. “I guess that . . . makes sense. But it was more than that. I can’t really explain it.” I fisted fingers into my shirt and sighed. “If you guys love me, you’ll stop begging me and let me stay here. I refuse to go to that party. I may have imagined seeing that man, but I’m not taking any chances.”

Sango frowned. “But Kagome—”

No!” I screeched. “Stop! Just stop! God, I hate it when the two of you do this! Nothing is going to change my mind this time so don’t bother. Go to the party and have fun, but leave me out of it!”

Finally, it seemed like I got through to them. “Okay, okay!” Sango stood from the kitchen table and motioned for Kikyou to follow her. “We just didn’t want to leave you here by yourself.”

“I know, and I’m sorry I yelled.” I pinched the bridge of my nose and closed my eyes. “But nothing can make me go back to that house.”

After they went upstairs to get ready for Kouga’s party, I wandered into the living room and laid on the couch. Slight tremors shook me, and I huddled into myself, trying my best to forget that man, if that’s what he even was.

I must’ve dozed off because the next thing I knew Sango and Kikyou were running down the stairs. “All right Kagome,” Kikyou chirped while looking for her purse. “We’re leaving. Call us if you need anything.”

“I will.” I tried to smile at them. “Have a good time.”

I settled in for a long night of worry as the front door closed.

~~~*~~~
About half an hour after they’d gone, the droning sound of the television eased me into sleep, and I dreamt.
Fast, pounding music vibrated the floors of what I thought was a club. A cacophony of people in brilliant colors twirled around me, seemingly oblivious to my presence.
I realized everyone was in costumes. Looking down at myself, I wasn’t surprised to see the costume I’d bought for Kouga’s party clinging to my body. At least I’d get to wear it somewhere.
The crowd suddenly parted, and I saw two girls, one in a sexy angel outfit and the other in a pretty fairy costume, walking up a grand staircase. They looked vaguely familiar to me, but I couldn’t place them.
I turned my attention to the throng of dancers. Something about this place . . . it was eerie. It was very dilapidated, like it could fall apart any second, and the atmosphere was just . . . cold. I wanted to leave.
Blood-curdling screams nearly shocked me out of my skin and I looked around wildly. No one else appeared to have heard them, and I immediately thought of the two girls on the staircase.
Abruptly, I was standing in front of a wooden door. I could hear the music from below and I knew I hadn’t left the club or party or whatever it was. I wondered if the girls were inside this room and leaned forward, listening.
A soft whimper, then nothing.
Without pausing to think, I forced the door open and hurried inside, only to stop dead not three steps into the room.
Kikyou and Sango lay sprawled at horrifyingly unnatural angles, their arms and legs bent and twisted. The tops of their costumes were shredded, and both of their necks were so badly mangled there was no way to describe it. Life blood seeped from the wounds, pooling under their prone bodies and into the cracks of the floorboards.
I fell back, my hands smothering my sobs. God, their faces . . . frozen into expressions of unadulterated fear and agony, their mouths open in silent shrieks . . .
Frigid fingers gently grasped the back of my neck and pulled me backwards. I barely registered the touch and went willingly, too distraught to do much else. The pounding of my heart echoed in my ears, and I almost missed what was said by the cool lips pressed to my temple.
“Come, and save them.”
I woke in a cold sweat.
~~~*~~~

Twenty minutes later I was immersed in drunken partiers, searching desperately for my friends. Clumsy feet tripped over the hem of my costume and I impatiently hoisted it up. Where were they . . . ?

“Kagome!”

I automatically turned to the sound of my name. “Inuyasha?”

He was very drunk, his cheeks and nose tinged red. “Sango and Kikyou said you weren’t coming!”

I perked up immediately. “Where are they Inuyasha?”

“Ughh . . .” He glanced around dazedly for a moment. “There,” he said, pointing to some far corner.

I went to move towards them, ecstatic that they were safe, when I felt my upper arm caught in a strong grip. “Hey, you like me, right?”

I looked up at Inuyasha and narrowed my eyes. “Why?”

His hands traced down my arms and pushed me closer. “Well, you know . . .” he murmured suggestively.

Seriously? He had to hit on me now?

“Let me go,” I said sternly. “I so do not have time for this. If you’re looking for a piece of ass, try Tsubaki.”

“Don’t be like that, Kagome.” His wayward hands slipped to my waist and traveled lower. “I know you want—”

I didn’t get a chance to hear what I wanted as he let go of me, hissing like he’d been burned. “What the hell did you do?!” he yelled.

I shook my head and walked away from him, heading instead for the staircase. Sango and Kikyou were fine, thank goodness, so now . . .

Now it was time to see what was in that room.

~~~*~~~
The wooden door was exactly like my dream, though I’d never seen it before. It was such an innocent looking thing.
He wanted me to go in. Those ghostly hands were back, prodding and poking at me, trying to make me move.
I was afraid. I had no idea what would happen if I went in there, but I had no choice, not if I wanted my friends to live.
The moment my fingertips brushed the handle, the door swung open with so much force it was a miracle it didn’t rip off its hinges. My heart was thundering hard beneath my skin, pumping adrenaline through me, and I quickly stepped into the room.
The door slammed behind me, making me jump. My breath started to come in short, heavy gasps as I waited for whatever was going to happen.
God, I was so scared.
Then, all of a sudden, those cold lips were kissing my temple. You’ve kept me waiting.
The coldness of his breath raised goose bumps on my arms and along my neck. “I’m sorry.” His voice was different from my dream. Here, it was ethereal and echoing, clearly not human. “I didn’t mean to.”
Long fingers wound themselves into my loosely bound hair. “Look at me.”
Slowly, I twisted my body, fear making my movements jerky, and gradually took in his appearance.
My God, was he ever beautiful.
I honestly thought my eyes might pop out of my skull. Alabaster skin and silver-white hair shone in the darkness, and the swirling tawny hue of his irises froze me where I stood. And that mouth . . .
The thought had barely crossed my mind before his icy lips pressed desperately to mine, and iron-like arms crushed me to a stone-hard chest. Gasping, I let him tug me closer, not sure where this was going. He kissed me so hard, like he’d been waiting ages just for this.
Adoration bloomed in my chest, and I kissed him back, surprising myself. I abruptly wanted to do anything for him, be anything for him, and love like I have never known embraced me, making my head swim.
I had to be with him. Always.
Reluctantly, he eased away, though he still held me, and I had half a mind to pull him back. “Kagome.”
I blinked at his voice. Not as airy and light as before, but darker, more . . . solid. The pads of his fingers brushed my cheekbones delicately. “Never leave me,” he murmured, and I noticed how warm he suddenly was. “I’ve waited so long.”
My heart constricted at his overwhelming sadness. “Why?”
“For you,” he whispered, and trailed open-mouthed kisses down the column of my neck and over my collarbone. “Let me make you mine.”
Anticipation curled in my stomach, and I didn’t give myself time to think. “Yes.”
Razor-sharp teeth instantly sank savagely into the exposed flesh above my heart, and I arched into him as he took my life away.
And, as I felt my pulse slowly fade, I smirked to myself.
I really was the one who always got into trouble.
A/N: Well, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this one-shot, but now that it’s out of my system I can work on other things. All I did was picture Sesshoumaru sitting alone on Halloween and BAM! One-shot  ^_^ hopefully you guys enjoyed it!
And don’t do anything overly reckless on Halloween, or you might be seduced by a vampire and never see the daylight world again!!!!!!!! XP
Seriously, be careful everyone! But don’t forget the moral of this story: peer pressure is not always a bad thing ^_^ (in fact, I based a lot of this off of how my friends pressure me to do things, although I’ve yet to meet a sexy vampire thanks to them)
Happy Halloween!
