~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome's brown eyes sparkled with mirth as her mouth was turned up in a smile, waist length dark brown hair was up in a high pony tail. Her slender frame was lounging on the couch arms crossed in front of her modest chest, her long legs were stretched out in front of her covered in her loose dress pants. She was wearing a gray blouse with a square neckline, Naraku and Hiten were arguing over where they were going to have dinner after the graduation ceremony Naraku's black hair whipped back and forth as he argued he was wearing a suit like usual both he and Hiten were muscular although Hiten was the more wiry of the two he also had long hair unlike Naraku he kept his braided and he had small hoops in both ears, they both had red eyes. They had told her time after time that it was just a unique shade of brown, but she still maintained that it was red. Miroku and Bankotsu were watching a baseball game and occasionally glaring at Naraku and Hiten for disrupting there entertainment. Bankotsu also had long black hair it was so dark it had highlights of blue an just like Hiten he kept it braided his bangs were longer than Hiten's and were more orientated towards the right he had gray-green eyes and a tattoo the shape of a rounded plus sign on his forehead when asked about it he claimed that it was a bet. Miroku was one of her few guy friends that had shorter hair it was jet black and came to his shoulders he kept it in a lazy ponytail at his neck his bangs were orientated to the left. He had navy blue eyes that usually had a lecherous gleam in them. As both he and Hiten shot another glare at the two males arguing by the foot of the stairs, he smirked and whispered to his fellow TV watcher. “Those two really need to get laid, hell they could should do each other release the tension” Kagome snickered as both Naraku and Hiten shot him murderous looks. Bankotsu laughed as Miroku tried to hide behind him. After a few long seconds of glaring -much to Kagome's and Bankotsu's amusement- went back to arguing with each other. The only one missing was Sesshomaru; she was sure he was either at school, work or out buying her something for her graduation.
Truthfully for the longest time Kagome had never thought she'd see her graduation day; considering she had nearly failed her freshman year. If her sophomore year gone the same direction, she had planned on dropping out of school altogether. Considering the company she kept and how completely out of control she had been it would have shocked her to have made it to her second year in high school.
Kikyo, Inuyasha, Koga, and Ayame had been the worst influences a person could have. They ditched school, tried every new drug that could be gotten, they drank and partied as much as possible. Not to mention the numerous other bad habits they possessed. And she had done nearly all of it with them. All of that came to a halt when she had come back from visiting her mother. It was the worst day of her life; looking back on it Kagome could honestly say that the worst day of her life had helped her start having some of the best.
~~~

It had all begun her freshman year; actually it was more like the third week of summer after school had gotten out. She was sitting with Kikyo by the apartment complex's pool that was where she had first met Naraku and Hiten.

Kikyo and Kagome were always told that they looked like sisters. Kikyo was thought to be the better looking of the two, she had long strait brown hair and gray eyes, unlike Kagome who was more on the slender side Kikyo was what could be referred as curvacious she had wide hips and was on the busty side. She looked good and she knew and flaunted it. They were wearing tiny bikinis Kagome's was white and Kikyo's was black.

Both males were good looking, looking at them she turned to Kikyo and stated that she was going to fuck one if not both of them. Unbeknownst to Kikyo Kagome was a virgin and she only had the very basic idea of what exactly was involved with sex. Kikyo nodded and suggested they go over there as Kikyo really wanted to get laid. She motioned for Kagome to go ahead of her while she fixed her hair.

However they were both completely shocked as the words came out of Naraku's mouth. “Girl do your parents know that you are out here dressed like that?” He said it in such a way that she knew that he thought she was the most disgusting creature he had ever had the misfortune of laying his eyes on. This made her try to cover herself up some without making it obvious that, that was what she was trying to do. She winced as he continued. “Or are you some kind of whore?” His red eyes showed his disappointment and disgust that some one would dress like that.

Before she could defend herself or do anything. Kikyo was there flirting her ass off, she had heard what they said to Kagome but she didn't care. This should have told Kagome what her so called “friend ” thought of her but it didn't.

The to males insulted Kikyo to the point where Kagome thought for sure she was going to cry; an that was a feat in itself. Finally she had had enough of the insults standing straighter she let her tongue loose. “You don't have to be such jerks! We don't know you and you know nothing of us, you have no right to talk to us like we're whores off the street!” She glared at the hatefully as Kikyo just stood there and watched.

Naraku was the one to respond and she wished that she had kept her huge mouth shut. The dark haired male walked closer to her and began circling around her like a vulture. He stopped in front of her and sneered. “Just take one good look at yourself.” He slipped a finger under the string of her bikini that tied around her neck. “Do you honestly call this a bathing suit? What this is, is nothing more than dyed dental floss and toilet paper.” He pulled on the string like he was going to yank it off be for releasing it. “A chile like you, wearing clothing like that tells me that before long you will be warming the bed of every single male that gives you a sideways glands.” He tilted his head to the side and cocked his eyebrow at her. “That is if you aren't already?”

Kagome could feel the tears stinging her eyes she fought them down. She would be damned if he was going to see how much his words hurt her; most especially since this was the first time they had ever met each other. “You know nothing of me.” She hissed defensively.

“We don't have to.” Hiten mocked as he looked her up and down disgust written plainly on his face. “How you look and are dressed tells us everything we need to know about you.”

Curling her fists at her sides. “Fuck off.” She bit out before storming out of the pool area and heading for her apartment; which just happened to be across the parking lot. She slammed the door and tried to fight down her anger. “Who the hell do those guys thing they are!?!” She hissed to herself just as Kikyo came walking in.

“Ignore them.” Kikyo said as if it was no big deal. “They're just mad because we won't give them the time of day.”

To Kagome's teen mind that made a lot of sense so she agreed with Kikyo. She simply disregarded the fact the Kikyo had attempted to throw her self at them and they did start insulting them first; she didn't realize at that time they were right and she was indeed whore bound.

Hiten's yelling brought Kagome out of her memories.

“And I'm telling you that we are NOT going to the sushi bar for dinner!” Hiten ground out. “She is allergic to shell fish; and unless you want to spend her graduation night in the hospital....” He gestured towards Kagome as if Naraku had no idea of whom he was speaking of. “Then I Suggest that you think of somewhere else to go for dinner.”

Naraku narrowed his eyes and his friend. “She told me that she wanted to go to the sushi bar for dinner and she doesn't have to order anything that is made of shell fish.”

Kagome giggled as she watched them. It was so weird to believe that these were the same two males that upon their very first meeting with her called her a whore. She shook her head as she stood; although it was entertaining she decided that it was time to bring this to an end. “Um...” she started as she stepped between the two and placed a placating hand on each of there chests. “How about we go to a buffet that way we can all have what we want and not have to worry about me accidentally getting sick.”

Naraku and Hiten looked down at her like she had just grown a third head. “We will go to the Beef Palace.” Naraku stated with a finality; like he was the one arguing against going to the sushi bar the whole time. Hiten sighed in annoyance but gave a curt nod of agreement.

Kagome smiled and Naraku. “See that’s much better.” Hes response was to giver her a strange throaty snort of derision that she had become accustomed to. She made a pouty face at him and batter her lashes over her big brown eyes. “I just want us to have fun together and with you and Hiten fighting it's ruining my day and I just don't think I will want to go to graduation tomorrow.” For added effect she made her bottom lip quiver like she was going to cry; he was always a sucker for that little move.

Naraku narrowed his eyes at her. “Don't think that you are not going to you graduation.” He stated trying to ignore that damn quivering lip of her.

“Will you promise to stop fighting with Hiten?”

He stayed silent for a moment eying her critically before answering. “do not attempt to threaten me girl. You will go to you graduation tomorrow and I will hear no arguments saying otherwise.”

Smiling hugely Kagome threw her arms around his neck and hugged him fiercely. That was the closest thing to and agreement that she was going to get.

Naraku pulled her from his person and held her at arms length. “Have you spoken with you parents?”

Shaking her head she hissed poison dripping from her voice “I don't want to talk to Them.

“Iie, that is unacceptable. You will call them and invite them to your graduation.” He ordered his voice left no room for argument.

“I will not.” She jerked herself free, and crossed her arms. “They don't care about me. Never have, never will.”

It matters not whether they care or not. They are still your parents and you will act as a responsible young lady and call them.” He gave her a small push towards the phone hanging on the wall. “I did not raise you to be a disrespectful heathen.”

She rolled her eyes and sighed in annoyance. When he wanted his way he always pulled rank on her and then acted as if he had been raising her since birth instead of just being her guardian for the last three years. “If it's so important you can call them. Need I remind you that they never once called me for my birthday or Christmas of for anything at all?” She could feel the tears welling up, but refused to let them fall, her parents did not deserve her tears.

“Jeeze Naraku lay off her!” Hiten growled out. “If she doesn't want to call them then she shouldn't have to!”

Naraku looked back and forth between her and Hiten a few times and cursed several times in his own mind. “twenty-three years old and what do I have to show for it? A spoiled to the core, mouth teenager.” he growled. It was his own fault for babying her for the last three years and letting her have her way.

She once again made the pouty face at him. “You don't love me.” She stated in mock sadness; only to be forced to laugh at the affronted face he made at her.

"You try my patience girl.” He hissed as he walked out of the kitchen.

“So does that mean I don't have to call them?”

Naraku glared at her over his shoulder then grabbed his car keys muttering about spoiled children as he walked out the door.

“I guess that means you have to call.” Hiten stated as he plopped down on the couch in between Miroku and Bankostu. Causing them to glare and scoot over.

Kagome sighed irritably and snatched the phone off the wall. “tsh and he has the audacity to call me spoiled.” She grumbled as she dialed the number to her father's house.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome tried to bite back the sobs that were choking her throat as she walked towards the apartment. This weekend had to be the worst weekend of her life. She had found out what her so called friends really thought of her. She placed her and on the door knob to her apartment only to find that it was locked; This wasn't that unusual. She dug around in her bag desperately looking for her key only to remember that she had forgotten it on the counter.
“Dang-it!” she hissed as she began pounding on the door. “Daaad! Open the door!” She waited a few moments with no sign that her father was coming to open the door for her. “DAD! ARE YOU IN THERE? I FORGOT MY KEY! OPEN THE DOOR! ITS ME KAGOME!” She had no idea why she announced who she was; she was sure her father would know his own daughters voice. Yet no he did not open the door. Huffing she walked around the building to the back where the parking garage was; only to find her father's car missing. “Shit” she cursed then made her way back around to the front and plopped herself down on the single step in front of the door.
Without the comfort of having a goal the memories assaulted her. As the memories where brought to the forefront of her mind. She pulled her knees up to her chest burring her face and sobbing silently. At this point all she wanted was to take a shower, crawl into bed and forget the whole thing; but it looked like she wasn't getting that. She was stuck outside waiting for her father to come home.....who knew when that might be.
Naraku lifted the lid to the trash container behind his building and dumped the bag containing all the beer bottles inside. He shut the lid and just as he turned to go back to his apartment he caught sight of the girl across the street, she was sitting on her step and had her face buried into her knees. 'What the hell is she doing out here at this time?' He questioned himself as he watched her closely. He could easily tell that she was crying; based on the shudders her body would give off every no and again, he had to wonder if she was crying because her father had left her behind.
No, she wasn't his problem; she was just a teenage whore and where her life was leading was absolutely none of his business. With those thought he headed back to his apartment to gather up the rest of the trash form the weekend party.
The sun had set hours ago as Kagome's tears increased. Her father still wasn't home and she wasn't able to get a hold of him through her cell phone; mainly because it had been shut off, nor could she get a hold of him from the neighbor's phone. She had even called her mother; only to have her tell Kagome that she hadn't heard from her father and that she was too busy to come and get her. She curled up on the step and sobbed pitifully.
Naraku stood in the dark watching the girl and he cursed himself to hell and back several times. He could have told her a long time ago that her father had moved out over the weekend; but no he had said absolutely nothing and here she was lying on the cement step, crying and she most likely had nowhere to go. With a deep resigned sigh and a few extra curses to himself, he made his way over the sobbing girl.
Kagome looked up as she heard footsteps coming towards her and she noted that it was one of the college boys that moved in across the parking lot; more specifically it was the one that had insulted her upon their very first meeting. “Go away.” She choked out waving him off with her left hand as she whipped her face with the right.
Naraku looked down at her and sighed in annoyance. “Come girl.” He grabbed her bag and turned to walk back to his apartment.
"Hey, that's my stuff." She whispered harshly as her voice; from so much crying, was strained.
He stopped and turned towards her. "Either you come and stay at my house or you sit out here for the rest of the night. Your choice."
Kagome eyed him for a moment until a realization hit her. "You know where my father is; don't you?" He gave her a curt nod and she scrambled to her feet. "Where is he?"
The millionth sigh in the span of a few hours expanded his chest before he told her of her father's whereabouts. "Your father is gone. He moved out over the weekend." Blunt, to the point, and very devastating to the sixteen year old standing in front of him.
Kagome fell to her knees not noticing that the concrete tore the flesh of her bared knees open. “No” she gasped as even more tears streamed down her cheeks she felt so devastated. Her weekend went from bad, to worse, to just down tight horrendous.
Naraku gave a small snort of disgust; for her father, before he grabbed her by the arm and hauled her to her feet. “You will stay tonight at my house and tomorrow you will try to find you father and mother.
She had no idea what he was saying; she was in shock. Her father had completely abandoned her without a word as to his whereabouts or anything. Did he take all of her stuff with him? Is there a note somewhere and she had yet to find it? Why didn't he tell her mother anything? Sure they were divorced and sure she lived six hours away and even though they didn't get along he could have at least asked her to come and pick up her daughter or something; not just leave her to her own devices
Little did Kagome know that this turn of event in her life was going to be the best thing that had ever happened to her.
