Windy Day by FeatherGoblinfrost

Windy Day

It was a breezy day in Tokyo as Kagome Higurashi walked down the pavement towards her favourite café.

As she was about to reach for the door handle, a gust of wind made her take a step back and before she could defend herself, grit flew into her eye. Muttering a few death threats towards the wind she rubbed her eye to try and get rid of the tiny invader that was causing her so much agony.

She pushed the door open and the little bell above announced her presence to the rest of the café. The smell of coffee and baking assaulted her nose.

The door opened behind Kagome and a silver haired man walked past her and headed towards the counter.

‘Are you ok, Kags?’ Sango asked stepping towards her.

‘I’m fine; I just got assaulted by the wind. I think there’s some grit in my eye.’

Stepping up to her Sango peered into her eye, ‘I can’t see anything maybe you just scratched it.’

‘Excuse me’, both girls turned to see the silver haired man staring at them intently, ‘if you will allow it I could take a look at your eye for you.’

‘I don’t know.’

‘You can trust me I’m a doctor’

‘Um … sure, ok’

He grabbed a napkin off the counter and stepped up to her, making Kagome blush at the close contact. He then proceeded to swipe at something under her lashes.

Blinking a few times she was surprised to find that there was no longer any irritation. ‘Thank you! Dr …?’

‘Sesshoumaru and I’m not really a doctor.’

‘Then why did you say you were?’

‘You wouldn’t have let me help you otherwise.’ He smirked, ‘as a repayment you can join me for a cup of coffee.’

‘I don’t know you –‘

‘She would love to,’ Sango beamed at her and started pushing her towards an empty booth.

She whispered to Kagome, ‘its not every day a knight in shining armour rescues you from some foul beastie!’

She walked away to help another customer leaving behind a befuddled Kagome and her very amused knight.
