Against Thy Will by My Eternal Anguish

"...I won't."

“50 yen.”

And older, gruff man held a young woman baring shackles that kept her hands and feet bounded. Her hair was messy and unkempt, covering her face. With a sudden shove, she fell forward, landing violently on her knees. Her skimpy clothing barely covered her bruised legs and arms. She was filthy.

“A high price for such a battered girl, don’t you think?”

“She’s a virgin, and young too,” his cold, raspy response echoed through the cell in which they stood, “We try to keep our women in the best shape possible but this one was a bit feisty.” Grabbing hold of the shackles that held her wrists, he pulled her back up to her feet. He took hold of her face saying, “Come on, girl. Show the man that pretty face.”

Fiery blue eyes were now visible and an angry, but less than intimidating grimace. She began to struggle and was immediately knocked back to the cold, hard ground with a thud.

“Why, I ought to--!“ the man raised his hand to hit her.

“Enough… I’ll take her. She’ll be perfect for him.”

“I assume you’ve been informed of what your new master may require.” Inutaisho glanced at the girl in question. She said nothing; Didn’t even cast him a short glance as she walked alongside him.

“A defiant one, I see.” Said the demon with slight humor in his tone, “Well I’m sure he’ll see to that right away.”

“I won’t do any of those things.” She finally spoke, practically spitting the words out in distaste, “I don’t care how badly you hurt me… even if you have to kill me. I won’t.”

“Well then, this should be interesting.”

The ceremony was extravegant. A feast was laid out on a long, elegant table. There were dancing women dressed in silken garments, expensive jewels gleaming in their braided hair. There were men and women sprawled along the ballroom, some dancing, some sipping red wine and laughing. Everyone seemed to be having a magnificent time.

Everyone except…

“You know, it’s your party. You could at least pretend you’re enjoying it.”

Sesshomaru sat at the very end of the table, a glass of wine in hand. He peered at the party guests with blatant disinterest, ignoring completely what his half brother had mockingly said.

“…freak.” Inuyasha walked away much to Sesshomaru’s liking although it didn’t show in his cold, amber gaze.

“Sesshomaru, my son.”

Now it was time to take interest. Sesshomaru glanced up at the tall figure that stood nearby and with an acknowledging nod and another sip of his wine said, “Father.”

“I bring you a gift on your day of birth.”

This was it… finally.

Sesshomaru stood and bowed his head respectfuly, “I accept with pride.”

“Her name is Kagome.”

Sesshomaru stood his ground, stunned as a small, black haired woman dressed in a fine, silken gown was placed before him, quite forcefuly. She gritted her teeth at her new master. They stared each other down, both seemingly quite unhappy with this arrangement.

“What is this?”

“Your gift, son.” Inutaisho grinned, “Your very first woman.” Kagome struggled once again to free herself of Inutaisho’s firm grasp which held both of her frail wrists with just one hand. “She’s quite the spit fire as you can see.”

“Are you trying to mock me?” Sesshomaru boomed suddenly, causing each and every guest in the ballroom to fall silent. “THIS is what you call a gift?!”

“She is in rough shape, my son, but she is young and untouched.”

“I do not want this pitiful girl. Take her back!” Sesshomaru turned and began to make his exit, his anger causing a chill throughout the entire ballroom.

Everyone watched in shock as Sesshomaru stormed towards doors.

“You call me pitiful, you ungrateful pig!?” Sesshomaru paused at hearing the small, but effective shout slice through the intense silence of the room, “At least I have my dignity! You think because you have money and nice clothing that you deserve everything you want! You’re disgusting.”

He stood still now, caught completely off guard. Everyone shook in fear at the certainty of the fatality of this ignorant girl.

The suspenseful silence lingered on and suddenly, there was laughter. Loud, untamed laughter.

“Inuysha!” Inutaisho glared as his youngest son added insult to injurty, practically falling to the ground in hysterics.

Sesshomaru turned and calmly walked back to where his father held the struggling, young woman.

“Release her.” His demand was frighteningly composed.

Inutaisho was afraid of what his son might have in store for the stupid girl but was not about to further insult him and loosened his grip on her wrists. As soon as she was free, before she could even react, Sesshomaru violently took hold of her hair and dragged her towards him. She cried out in pain but still growled defiantly, even while her face was so close to his, the tip of their noses were practically touching.

The look he gave her was enough to kill.

“Dare you attempt to humiliate me in front of all these people?” he said lowly, heat radiating from his face, practically burning her. There was a hesitation before she shot him a feigned, sugary sweet smile.

“Why, no! I think you’ve already done that yourself… Master.” She said mockingly, being sure to emphasize the sarcasm in the word, ‘master’.

“Father…” Sesshomaru addressed Inutaisho, not once looking away from Kagome, who was still dangling from his fist by locks of her hair, “I appologize. I accept your gift. I shall enjoy every minute it takes to tame this bitch.”

I have big plans for this one so, even if just to say you liked it, a review would be very much appreciated.

A million thanks to my readers! ;D
