As the wind blew across the field a sense of peace was felt by the lone miko. She sat on the edge of what used to be the well staring off into space, but a smile graced her lips for today was a day of celebrating. Not only for what they had accomplished only four years ago but because a wedding was today.

Four years seemed like so long ago, so much had happened since she had first fallen to this place 9 years ago, the place that had become her home. The sun was shinning down softly; the land had healed, hiding the barely visible scars left on the land. The well the last testament to what had happened.

"NARAKU!" Was what could be heard as the group crashed into the clearing, Tessaiga, Staff, Hiraikotsu and arrows drawn. The miasma filled field looked nothing as it once had.

It ate at everything it came into contact to, great trees were destroyed and animals alike were not safe. And at the epicenter of it all was the one whom they all despised. The one they had sought after for so long."

The wind picked up swirling her long tresses around her. Her cerulean eyes locked to the sky. Long lashes covered them as she remembered she had somewhere that required her attendance. She stood up, miko robes adorning her figure, no longer that of a lanky school girl, but of a woman of great strength. She gathered her bow and arrows, and attached a sword to her hip.

She no longer hid from battle or fought from the side lines, she was now a full miko warrior. She wandered towards the village remembering all that had occurred in these past four years as she walked toward the god tree.

Soon after the defeat of Naraku, Sango and Miroku had married... as it turns out Sango was just as much of a perv as Miroku and sometimes worse. A small laugh left her as she remembered the first time Sango didn't knock Miroku out, it was right after their wedding.

"Sango my love" Miroku hugged her tightly followed by a kiss, Sango though blushing returned it. As everyone clapped for the newlyweds everyone saw his hand start to wander, sweat had already begun to form, but when the slap never came everyone stared.

In front of them was a shocked stuttering monk. "Sa...San...Sango?!?" Inuyasha was the first to notice, when he did he immediately covered Shippo’s eyes "Hey Inuyasha what are doing?" the kitsune ranted.

Kagome was about to Sit him when she too also saw what Inuyasha had seen. She couldn’t contain her laughter, not only had Sango returned the favor, but with both hands. For the first time the monk was the one to turn red.

"Hey what’s going on?" Shippo was still struggling with Inuyashas'  hand.

"Trust me runt you don't...you don't wanna know, I wish I hadn’t seen it." Kaede had laughed along with Kagome.

"It seems Miroku; Sango is catching up for all the other times." Many of the villagers laughed at the embarrassed monk. The rest of the day was encased with laughter and cheer, the newlyweds were presented with a house in the village. But the one thing that made Sango the happiest other than her marriage was that her brother was there to be with her.

Contrary to normal marriage Miroku had taken up Sango's surname so that their generations to come would continue her line. He saw it as a way for his curse to have died with Naraku. Even though the wind tunnel was gone his strength still surpassed that of any human. At the end Kagome had to put a barrier around their hut to keep out the noises of that night.

Kagome remembered all the training she had done to defeat Naraku. She had surpassed Kikyo and was close to Midoriko, Miko warrior of legend. Her hand gripped her sword at the memories...but those were for later times.

She neared the God tree gazing into the branches. She saw a vision of Inuyasha pinned to the tree. She stood at the roots and lifted her hand up along the bark seeing Kikyo’s arrow head still in the tree, but she remembered not to touch it this time.

Instead she felt the god tree's life presence; she could feel the exchange of ki from the tree to all surrounding areas. She couldn’t imagine the tree not being here, after all it was the place of so many important things.

So many images flashed through her mind, when she met Inuyasha, when he tried to kill her, him sleeping in it, Shippo playing hide and seek, the land torn to pieces, the miasma spreading, Miroku and Sango's wedding, the truce between Inuyasha and his hated Half brother Sesshomaru...

Inuyasha had felt his presence form miles away. The pack had been merely resting when he stood up "Sesshomaru" were the only words he spoke. No sword had been drawn on Inuyasha's part which surprised the group.

No more than a few moments later Lord Sesshomaru himself had strode towards the trees and the rag tag group at its' roots. "What do you want with us Sesshomaru?" Inuyasha still stood with no sword in hand. Sesshomaru looked at the group then stared at Inuyasha

"This Sesshomaru wishes to speak to you Inuyasha" came his baritone voice.

"How many time do I have to tell ya to not call me....wait..di..did you just call me Inuyasha!?" Inuyasha was speechless...almost.

Sesshomaru raised an eye brow at his brother before replying "That is you name is it not, or have you changed it little brother?"

To say Inuyasha was confused would be an understatement, "What is it you want anyway?" Inuyasha quickly recovered trying to find out what his brother wanted.

Sesshomaru looked at him seriously "This Sesshomaru wishes to offer a place in the house of the west, as is your birth right."

The group was shocked to say the least. Could Sesshomaru truly mean that or was he under some kind of enchantment?

"What are you trying to get at Sesshomaru, Why you being nice to me..finally pull that sword out of your ass?" Inuyasha crossed his arms at the chest.

Sesshomaru gave a small glare ignoring the insult. "I have no ulterior motive then to allow what should have been from the start. You have proved yourself worthy of the name of our father. You have proved you are a Tashio, an heir of the west. And to allow you a place in this Sesshomaru's Pack, as Beta." Sesshomaru looked to his brother.

Inuyasha couldn’t believe his ears, that had been the longest sting of words Sesshomaru had ever said to him. His brother, his hated half brother the one who despised the very earth he walked on, was offering a place in his pack. Inuyasha collapsed against the tree, legs weak from shock.

Myoga had perched on his shoulder "Master Inuyasha you should take his offer. It would be a great honor to be Lord Sesshomaru's beta. It would show that he approves of you and any threat against you is a threat against the house of Tashio and himself."

Inuyasha looked toward Sesshomaru as if he had grown a second head. Sesshomaru nodded "The flea is correct brother, but the descion is yours, the rest of your pack would also belong to mine as well."

Inuyasha couldn’t believe his ears it was all to much for him. He just sat there not sure what to do for the first time in his life. "You may wait to decide to give me a response." With that he left just as quietly as he came.

Kagome had run to his side immediately. "Inuyasha are you ok..." Shippo had perched on his head looking at him upside down quizzically. "Ye...yea I’m fine I just…need to think" with that he wandered toward the waterfall in a daze.

It hadn't been that long after that Inuyasha gave Sesshomaru his answer. He chose to be Sesshomaru's beta and for once showed respect for his brother.

Sesshomaru had taken him under his wing and began to teach Inuyasha about his demon heritage and how to control his inner demon. He helped him get stronger and learn self control.

Inuyasha was now looking towards to his brother not with hatred, but with admiration. Inuyasha soon became one of Sesshomaru’s greatest generals in only a few short years.

After a while she finally remembered the latest memory in front of the tree, her wish upon the jewel, A wish no one had expected...
