The further they followed the trail of smoke, that only Sesshoumaru could smell now, the cramped hallway around them grew dimmer and dimmer still until it had become pitch black. Unable to even see her hands in front of her, Kagome began to feel along the wall with her hands as she walked to stop from falling. “I can not wait for when the mellow moon begins to beam down on me once more,” she mumbled to herself; not in the least a fan of the dark.

In the dark, she could not hide from the thoughts that haunted her.
