Unexpected Meetings

"Sesshomaru, please don't leave." A sixteen year old Kagome pleaded with her boyfriend as he stood in her doorway. He simply turned around and left closing the door behind him. Kagome broke down crying as the love of her life left her. She knew Mikos and Demons weren't supposed to get along but they were doing just fine, or at least she thought.

Kagome had no idea that even outside in his car, an eighteen year old Sesshomaru could smell her tears. He drove away as a tear slowly rolled down his cheek.

----------------- 2 years later------------

"Kagome hurry up, we have got to the club." Sango yelled upstairs to her friend. Sango was nineteen with waist length brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. She was wearing a short, skin tight red dress and black knee length boots. After ten minutes of silence she called up to her friend again. "Higurashi get ass down her."

Kagome Higurashi, an eighteen year old girl with waist length wavy raven black hair and sky blue eyes that seemed to turn ocean blue when she was mad, came down the stairs. She was wearing skin tight blue jeans with rips on the knees and a black and blue tube top that stretched over her butt; she also had on black ballet flats.

"Happy birthday girl." Sango said hugging her friend.

"Song where did you find a club that let eighteen year olds in?" Kagome said stepping back from the hug.

"I didn't, you have to be twenty-one to get in but Ayame's brothers own the place. Her one brother is the bouncer which also helps and guess who's the bartender, yep Miroku." Sango said while the two of them pulled their hair into high ponytails.

"Sango he is twenty-two and he knows not to give anything to drink. Let's go we have to meet Ayame at the club." Kagome said and the two of them walked out to the car and drove away the whole time sharing opinions on the subject.

"Ayame, tell Kagome that it would be defiantly okay for me to go out with Miroku." Sango said walking up to a redhead.

"He's twenty-two." Ayame said. Ayame was nineteen with shoulder length red hair that was currently down, her eyes are emerald green. She is wearing a purple tight halter top and a short black leather skirt. Her shoes were black high heels that raised her a good three inches.

"Yea but that is only a two year difference and I'm no longer a minor so it is all legal." Sango said with a smile on her face. The two other girls sighed and walked up to the club.

"What do you three want?" Bankotsu, the oldest of Ayame's brothers asked them (A/n: can you guess who the other brothers are. =P).

"Well we were hoping to get in so we can celebrate Kags birthday." Ayame said smartly. Bankotsu looked Kagome up and down smiling and wished her a happy birthday.

"You guys can go in as long as you don't drink anything." Bankotsu said.

"No drinking." The three girls said in sync while titling their head slightly and smiling. Bankotsu let the three in while checking Kagome out. When they were out of earshot Ayame turned to Kagome.

"You know he is going to try to get you know that your eighteen." Ayame said, Kagome just sighed and nodded.

One hundred years ago when a human president found out that there were demons walking on the earth and exposed them, he also made a set of rules to correspond with the rules of the different kinds of demons. One rule was that when a girl turned eighteen she was far game to all ages. Lucky for Kagome, Ayame and her seven brothers were wolf demons. Kagome though was a miko and only lucky demons try and get with a miko priestess, knowing that if they dead something wrong the miko (or monk for boys) could purify them into nothing.

"Hey monkey-shushu. How is your holy hand?" Kagome asked as she skipped up to Miroku (a monk).

"Not funny Kags just not funny." Miroku said looking down at his right hand. Miroku was a tall twenty-two year old with short black hair that he kept pulled in a ponytail and brown eyes. Two months ago on his birthday, him, Kagome, and Ayame's brothers were playing chicken with candles. They each put a lit candle on one of their hands; the wax would fall down and burn everyone slightly. It was just Kagome and Miroku with a quarter of candle each when Kagome chickened out. All of them got burnt but Miroku got the worst of it. When he went to take his candle off, he accidently poured his hot wax all over his hand. Now he has a giant and permanent scar on his palm.

"And know we know not to play chicken with candles." Sango said. Kagome and Miroku glared at one of the two girls who didn't play and just laughed the whole time at the faces their friends got when they were burnt.

"So Sango how was your day?" Miroku asked changing the subject. Ayame and Kagome walked away not wanting to hear the flirting that was sure to come. The two of them danced with random men on the dance floor, grinding and having too much fun.

When Kagome thought it was safe she walked back to the bar and took a seat. She could see that Sango was flirting with a monk in a corner successfully making the one behind the bar jealous.

"Hello, young Miko."Kagome heard a man say as he sat next to her. It was a young wolf demon around her age; just this one wasn't related to Ayame.

"My name is Kagome, demon, and yours is?" Kagome said giving him his full attention.

"Kouga is my name. You sound upset is everything okay?" Kouga said putting his hand on hers.

"Yeah I'm just not the biggest fan of clubs, but my friends brought me here on my birthday." Kagome said looking around.

"Yes you turned eighteen." Kagome just nodded remembering how when a female turns eighteen her scent changes and her smell matures (a smell most male demons love). And for a female miko, her power gets stronger and easier to sense. "So would you like to leave, I can take you somewhere?"

"Sure, Miroku tell Sango and Ayame that I left." Kagome said standing up.

"Aren't you being a little too trusting Kagome?" Miroku questioned Kagome as he walked over to her.

"No, if he tries something I can purify his nuts off." Kagome said.

"And that gives me enough reason to not try something." Kouga said as they walked out of the club. They climbed into Kouga's GMC and drove off.

"So where are you taking me?" Kagome asked as she looked out of the window. She knew her mother wouldn't approve of her getting into a truck with someone she just met, but she really never listened to her mother.

"To the beach." He said simply as he smiled at her.

"Isn't there a bonfire going own down there though?" She asked.

"Oh we won't bother them, it's not like there are seven of us." Ten minutes later Kouga pulled into a parking spot next to the beach. They climbed out and Kagome instantly shivered. Kouga walked up and put his leather jacket on her.

The two of them walked along the beach talking. They found out that they knew each other longer than they thought. Kouga had gone to first grade with Kagome before he had to move away.

"So it was you who put the thumbtacks on the teachers' chair." Kagome said laughing.

"Yep and that dog breath Inuyasha had got in trouble. Hey does he still live around here?" Kouga asked.

"Yea and I'm stuck in the same school as him to. Well I was until senior year ended. He almost failed."

"That's funny because he almost failed first grade to." Kouga said laughing again.

Kagome joined his laughter. "Only because we changed his grades, I can't believe I forgot about you, you were my best friend at the end of the year."

"And you cried when I left." Kouga said proudly puffing out his chest.

"You cried to." Kagome added, all the left his chest and he pushed her muttering kill joy. Kagome pushed him back and he ended up on the ground.

"Come here." Kouga growled playfully. Kagome squealed as she ran away. Kouga jumped up and chased her purposely not putting all of his demon power in the running, but when he sensed she was using her miko energy to go faster he let go of his morals.

----------------------Meanwhile-------------------------

Sesshomaru could not understand why he let his little brother drag him to this stupid bonfire. The little brat even tried to fix him up with a date. If it was one thing he knew he didn't need it was help getting a date. He was one of the most attractive demons. He had silver hair that reached his knees, his eyes were molten gold and his ears came to an elfish point. He had a sapphire moon on his forehead showing that he was a lord and purple stripes on his cheeks, wrists, waist, and ankles. He needed no help and if he did then he wouldn't want it from his brother.

Sesshomaru drifted father away from the fire leaving the sound of the drunken humans and demons behind him. As he walked he heard the sound of squeals and laughter. He couldn't help but think that the female laughter smelled familiar. Then he smelled her.

------------------Back to laughing idiots-------------------

Kouga suddenly stopped laughing and tickling the newly caught Kagome and released a growl.

"What is it Kouga?" Kagome asked as they both stood up. She had sensed someone coming but didn't find any reason to worry.

"What's his face is here to break up the party." Kouga growled. He had heard from a new student at his school a couple years ago that Kagome and Inuyashas older had started going out. To say he was pleased would be the lie of the century.

Kagome knew instantly who he was talking about as soon as he stepped into her seeing range. "Sesshomaru." She whispered hoping he hadn't heard her.

"Who?" Kouga questioned looking at the small miko.

"Me." He heard. He looked up a saw Sesshomaru standing in front of him suddenly.

"Um. Hey Sesshomaru." Kagome said. She looked at him and his face was stone cold staring down at Kouga.

"Kagome." He said not looking at her more focused on the man standing in front of him.

"Kagome, who is this?" Kouga asked his eyes never leaving Sesshomaru's.

"Oh, Kouga this is Sesshomaru, Inuyashas older brother. Sesshomaru this is Kouga, he is an old friend of mine." Kagome said nervously feeling the tension that would only cut if you took a chainsaw to it. "Why don't you to talk and I go find a chainsaw, I mean say hi to Inuyasha, he came with you right?" Kagome said trying her best to get away. She hadn't gotten more than five feet before she heard two non-pleased demons call her name.

"So guys, beautiful night right?" Kagome questioned. She got no answer. "Yea a little cold, by the way thanks for lending me your jacket Kouga." That probably wasn't the best thing to say since Sesshomaru growled and Kouga smirked.

Kagome couldn't have been happier than when she heard the ringtone for Ayame go off. "Well you to stay here or go your separate ways but I have to take this." Kagome said to the two demons whose eyes hadn't left each other's the whole time. She walked down next to the ocean and felt the cold spray splash up and hit her.

"Hello." Kagome said into her phone.

"Kagome, girl are you okay who did you leave with." She heard her friends asked, she could tell that they were still in the club because of all the sounds.

"I left with an old friend and I was fine before he showed up." Kagome said to her two worried friends.

"Who?" They asked at once.

"Sesshomaru." She heard her friends groan and smirked at how loyal they were.

"What did he do, was it bad?" She heard the questions just barely over the music.

"Nothing yet he and Kouga are just having a stare off of death right now. I'll tell him you said hi." Kagome said

"We would have called you sooner girl but it is so hard to get bars in a bar." Ayame said through the phone.

"Hey that's like a play on words." Kagome could tell that Sango had had too much coffee that morning.

"You want us to come and get you?" Ayame asked Kagome said no, bye and hung up then skipped back to the boys.

"Ayame and Sango say hi Sesshomaru." Kagome said that caused in effect so Kagome just sat down in the sand and took her shoes off. Ten minutes later her feet were completely covered and she had even put shells where her toes where. "Will you two at least sit down you look creepy and really tall up there." Kagome leaned her head up to look at them.

When they each took a seat on either side of Kagome she popped up and ran down next to the water. For some strange reason she wanted to chase the waves and then build a sand castle with some wet sand.

As Sesshomaru watched Kagome chase the waves he thought about when they went out and he would take her to the late at night and stay until early in morning so they could have it all to themselves. He remembered how they would go swimming but as soon as the water hit her skin she would scream. Then he would have to carry her in over his shoulder. He remembered all of those times even down to the time where she caught a guppy and took it home. It died when she asleep and when he said it ran away she yelled at him to not to give her that shit. So he said it was hit by a car, she believed that one.

"What do you want with her?" Kouga asked knocking Sesshomaru out of his memories.

"I don't know what you mean." Sesshomaru lied.

"You want something or you would have left by now." Kouga said knowingly.

"I wanted to see someone I haven't seen in a while." Sesshomaru said knowing that he wanted more than that.

"If you think that you're going to go back with her then you are wrong."

'He is trying to take what is ours, kick his ass, kick his ass.' 'We have no right beast we left Kagome.' 'No dumbass you did she is still mine.' 'Shut up.' After closing the quick conversation with his beast Sesshomaru responded to Kouga.

"We will have to see about that."

Kagome ran back up to the guys after several failed attempts to make a sand castle. She plopped into between them and sighed.

"Sesshomaru I've been thinking, and Benny (the goldfish) wasn't by a car was he?" Kagome asked Sesshomaru looking him straight in the eye.

"No. He just died." Sesshomaru said simply seeing no reason to prolong the answer.

"Benny!" Kagome whined as she fell back in the sand.

"Hey Sesshomaru it's time to go." Inuyasha said walking into the little group. Inuyasha looked almost completely like Sesshomaru, except he didn't have demon markings and his ears were on his head and looked like puppy ears.

"Oh yea we should probably leave Kouga." I said standing up with Sesshomaru's help and put on my shoes.

"Oh Kagome hi, you should spend the night at my house tonight." Inuyasha said smiling.

"Are you gay?" Kagome asked him as she gave him hug.

"No and what is Kouga doing back?" Inuyasha said glaring at Kouga.

"Nice to see you to dog face, I moved in last week." Kouga said. Inuyasha said ugh and turned back to Kagome.

"Come on and spend the night you did before."Inuyasha pleaded.

"That's when we were seven and in second grade. Besides don't you need to ask your dad?" Kagome said walking with the three boys to the parking lot.

"Seven, eighteen no difference besides my dad is out of town." Inuyasha said happily. Kagome could smell a little bit of beer in Inuyashas breath and she would love to see him with a hangover.

"Ask Sesshy over there." Kagome said nodding to Sesshomaru on the other side of Inuyasha. Sesshomaru said a quick sure and the two happy teens gave each other a high five. Kagome said goodbye before climbing into the passenger seat of Sesshomaru's jeep.

"Oh shit I forgot to give Kouga back his jacket." Kagome said after they pulled into the driveway.

"I don't like him, he made think I failed first grade." Inuyasha said pouting and helping Kagome out of the car and pulling her onto his back.

"I was in on that two." Kagome confessed as she rode Inuyasha piggy back into the house.

"Yes but you also gave me a cookie every day." Inuyasha said as he took Kagome into his room so she could change. When he left Kagome went through all of his clothes and finally found a suitable nighttime outfit. A black white beater and red basketball shorts. She left her other clothes in a corner in his room. Then he saw them. On his dresser were pictures of the two of them together, one was from when they went on a field trip to the mall. They got their pictures taken in one of those booths and had best friends on it. There was even a picture from when the brother's dad took the three of them to the beach. That was right before her and Sesshomaru started going out and only Inuyasha knew that she liked his brother.

Kagome ran down the stairs and gave Inuyasha a hug. The two brothers had just changed (Inuyasha had clothes in the dryer and was wearing Scooby-doo boxers and a white beater) and were surprised by Kagome.

"Hey, Inu I have those same pictures in my room, every single one." Kagome said that caused Inuyasha to smile and Sesshomaru to smirk. Sesshomaru knew that Inuyasha had a picture of the three of them from when he and Kagome were going out. Sesshomaru was holding Kagome tight to him, she was giving Inuyasha bunny ears and Inuyasha had his tongue sticking out. And he knew Kagome didn't lie.

Right before Kagome went to sleep she pulled out her phone and typed this:

Dear Diary,

I'm spending the night with Inuyasha tonight and Sesshomaru is watching us like a hawk. The lucky part is I got the living room couch which gave Inuyasha the floor, table, or recliner....he chose the table. Now Sesshomaru is reclining in the chair staring at me.

Forever yours until I die tonight,

Kagome Higurashi

Then she sent it to both of her friends.
