Sesshoumaru led Kagome back towards camp in complete silence. He was stunned by her sudden frigidness. She'd practically melted into a puddle in his arms while he kissed her, and yet suddenly he wasn't allowed to do so again? What exactly did she want from him? She said she wanted to know what was happening between them.

If he were to stop her in her tracks and tell her exactly what he wanted, would she be satisfied or would that scare her off? He was betting on the second. She'd never truly been kissed before a few minutes ago. There was no way she would react well to 'I want to take you as my mate, binding our souls together until the end of time.' He wasn't even sure he could say it aloud. It had been hard enough realizing and then accepting that it was what he wanted in the first place. No, he couldn't just blurt it out and hope for the best. So then, what did he tell her?

The taiyoukai slowed to a stop and turned to look at the miko who had been following him. "Kagome, what, exactly, do you wish to know?"

"What in the world you want with me. Why did you suddenly want my attention so badly? Why are you flirting with me? Why in the hell did you kiss me? I don't get it, any of it."

"You have attracted my interest," he started. "I enjoy interacting with you. You... It is fun, and this Sesshoumaru has very little fun in my life."

"Fun? You think flirting with me is fun?"

"Do you disagree?" he asked with one raised brow.

Kagome thought about it for a moment. He was right. It was fun, but was that a good enough reason to allow him to try to eat her face? She'd definitely enjoyed it, but that wasn't the point.

"No, you're right. It is fun, but that doesn't make a relationship."

"This Sesshoumaru has never truly been in a relationship, so I do not know what you desire from me."

Kagome shrugged. "Me neither."

"You do not know what you want? Then how am I supposed to?"

The miko smirked. "That's for me to know and you to find out," she said in that tone he enjoyed so much. "Now, explain to me why I'm walking. Last time we played this game, you carried me back."

Now both of Sesshoumaru's eyebrows were in his hairline. "Do you wish for me to carry you?"

"Duh," she replied before giggling. "Who wouldn't? Also, I think we should revisit the idea of a massage for my sore muscles. I did run quite a long way and I don't want to get muscle cramps."

"And will this massage conclude with a happy ending?" he asked playfully.

The miko's cheeks flushed a brilliant red at his words. "You weren't supposed to remember that part."

Sesshoumaru chuckled and swept her up into his arms. "How could I forget?"
