A/N: Alright, I feel really bad. Because I know the challenge is free words here, but this ended up being really short. Anyway, here you go:

Prompt: Hero Word count: 798

Chapter seven: Hero

The sunset was all she could think about. Its beautiful colors shone though the sky, making the colors of blue, orange, pink, and white mix together beautifully. It was romantic. A fantasy that a girl would always dream about. To be sitting underneath a tree, next to the one she loved more them anything, watching the sun as it reached its twilight and disappear into the night. Unfortunately that wasn't how it was at the current moment.

Kagome Higurashi, girl at the age of only seventeen, a senor in high school with a crush on her history teacher, who mind you was a youkai, was stuck in a tree during a downpour. She felt completely and utterly pathetic. She was cold, wetter then hell, and in a very hatful mood. And who to blame the fact she was in a tree? Honestly, there were too many names to call out. First it was Inuyasha who chased her up into the tree because she teased him about the fact that he had cute fluffy ears, and then there was his group of friends. Mostly Miroku who clamed that if she jumped down, he would catch her into his waiting arms. Of course, Kagome knew that meant that he would grope her. No thank you. Kouga started to yell at Inuyasha, saying that it was the hanyou's fault that Kagome got stuck in the first place and the two started to bicker loudly. Finally Kagome couldn't take it anymore and told them to go and get help before she started to throw acorns at the bunch. That of course was three hours ago. Now it was raining and no one was in sight of her.

"I hate men. Stupid, stupid idiotic men. And not just men. Youkai and their argh!" She wanted to bang her head against the tree she was so angry. How in kami's name did she always end up like this? She hated heights! Absolutely hated them! And she couldn't believe that the guys had completely forgotten about her. If they didn't then they would have come and gotten her by now. But no, she was still stuck up there. Slowly, Kagome started to wonder if she was going to die up there in the tree.

"You know, if you hate us so much, maybe I should just leave you up there my little kitten."

Kagome looked down and sighed in relief. "Finally! Someone who has a brain and wouldn't leave me up here!"

Sesshomaru looked up at her, slightly getting wet from moving the umbrella. He only knew she was there because he had heard his useless half breed of a brother talk to his two moronic friends about how Kagome probably already got down from the spot and was already home. Go figure that Inuyasha had no brain. And all these years his father was trying to tell him otherwise.

"So tell me little kitten, what do I get for coming and saving you from your predicament?"

Kagome pouted. "A thank you and my undying gratitude?" She offered.

Sesshomaru seemed to think about it for a moment. "No, I do not believe that is enough."

"The fact that I won't start throwing acorns at you?" Kagome offered again.

That got a silver eyebrow raised. "Now tell me Kagome, what would you benefit from throwing acorns at me like a squirrel? It won't get you out of that tree faster I can inform you of that."

Kagome pouted though she knew he was right. It would make her feel better, but not as good as taking a hot shower then being in warm clothes all snuggled in a blanket. "Fine, what do you want?" She finally asked.

He smirked. "Now that's a dangerous thing to ask Kagome."

The raven haired girl actually whined. "I don't care anymore! Just get me out of this stupid tree! I think I'm getting sick up here! If you get me down I'll do anything you ask!"

"Anything?"

"Anything!"

Sesshomaru chuckled softly. With a quick movement he jumped up the tree and grabbed the girl with ease and jumped back down. "Don't forget my dear little miko, you did say anything."

Kagome had her arms wrapped around his neck. "Your so my hero Sesshomaru." Kagome giggled. "And yes, I know I said anything."

A devilish smirk reached his lips. "Good. Because for a week your going to be my personal live in maid. And your going to be wearing a certain maid outfit just for you."

Her face fell. "Crap..."

"What? I don't get to be called a hero anymore?" He asked her, his eyebrow arched. "Well fine then, instead you can call me master."

She glared at him the best she could. "I hate you." She muttered under her breath.
