Chapter 34 - Snow Day

*Make a Bet* (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

Kagome hummed Christmas music to herself as she worked. After years of making snowmen, she was an expert and worked quickly. While she stayed focused on her project, Sesshoumaru was watching her like a hawk. He had no idea what he was doing, and he tried to mimic his girlfriend's actions to make his own snowman.

It wasn't as easy as she made it look, and he was questioning the intelligence of letting her make this into a challenge. There was no competition. She was a lock for the win, not that anyone would have bet on his abilities over hers. The taiyoukai was having problems making the snow stick together properly, so his bottom ball of snow looked more like a lump. Making the second part was worse, however, because every time he tried to lift it into place, the outer, rounded layers started to fall away. With a sigh and a check of Kagome's progress, he decided to leave it alone. It was good enough. In his efforts to make the head more tightly packed, he found it somehow became too large. Once it was where it belonged, he tried to adjust the size, but wasn't very successful.

Turning to watch Kagome again, he saw her using tree branches for arms. He quickly searched the area, and couldn't find two of similar size. He did locate one very long branch instead. He decided it would have to do and violently shoved it through his snowman, making one branch into two arms. He was simply thankful that the entire snow sculpture hadn't collapsed from the force. He was not looking to start over. She was nearly done!

The miko was putting on the finishing touches, pulling small rocks and a scarf out of her pockets, and he frowned. He was unaware they were allowed to accessorize. If he had, his finished product might have looked a little better.

*God's Clown * (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

Kagome was finally finished and took a step back to examine her work. Satisfied, she turned to check out Sesshoumaru's snowman. She instantly burst out laughing. "Sesshoumaru! What did you do?" she asked between giggles.

"What do you mean? I made a snowman."

"No, that is not a snowman," the miko replied. She walked closer, getting a different angle, and she gasped, covering her face with her hand. "Do you know what that looks like?"

"No, tell me. What does it look like?" he asked snidely. He should have just told her he had no idea what he was doing. Perhaps then she would have taught him rather than leaving him to his own devices.

*Scandalous Scene* (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

"It looks like a giant penis," she whispered, her cheeks pink not only from the cold, but because she was blushing like made. "With a piercing even! How did you do that and not realize it?"

Sesshoumaru took several steps back and examined his snow sculpture. The bottom was not rounded, but flush to the ground. Where the snow had fallen away on the second piece, and he had tried to pat it back into place, removing any definition between the two. The oversized head, along with his attempts to rectify the problem, did look very similar to the mushroom head of a penis, and he sighed. What in the world did that say about him? He set out to make a snowman, and instead he made a giant snow penis with a serious piercing. The straight branch in no way resembled arms, but did add to the disturbing nature of what he had somehow made.

*Looming Crisis * (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

"We have to take that down," Kagome hissed, "before someone sees it!" With a shrug of his shoulders, Sesshoumaru approached, only for Kagome to tug at his sleeve. "Wait, we have to take a picture first," she said while pulling out her phone. "Inuyasha is going to love this."

She quickly snapped a photo, and then Sesshoumaru set out to destroy his very questionable work of art. Kagome was laughing again, and the taiyoukai turned and threw a fistful of snow at her before returning to his task. The miko's eyes widened, and she quickly crouched to make a snowball. She hit him square in the back of the head, and in seconds they were in a full-on snowball fight. Kagome took shelter behind her snowman while Sesshoumaru ducked behind the bushes. He discovered his clumsy miko actually had very good aim, and after a few minutes, he was ready for the fight to be over so they could move on to warming up.  He decided she had been out in the cold long enough. Sure, he was having fun, not that he would ever admit that aloud, but her health was his main concern.

* Fallen One* (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

Sesshoumaru used his stealth and speed to loop the yard and come up behind Kagome, who jumped when his arms wrapped around her waist. She whirled and smashed snow against his chest, high enough that the frigid substance went down his shirt before slipping away. He was ready to run after her, already eager for another chase, when she stopped and fell flat onto be back. He was shocked, worried that something had happened to her, but when he reached her side, she was waving her arms and legs in the snow.

"What in the world are you doing?" the taiyoukai asked, questioning her sanity.

"I'm making a snow angel, silly. Now back up. You're getting footprints in it!"

Sesshoumaru smirked. She didn't want footprints? Fine. The taiyoukai dropped to his knees and crawled into her snow angel until he was perched over her body, looking down into her happy, sparkling eyes. He kissed her passionately, encouraging her legs to wrap around his waist, and then he rose, carrying her body tightly to his.

"But I'm not done playing!" Kagome whined.

"Neither am I," Sesshoumaru replied. He had every intention of warming her up in the most delightful of ways.
