Kagome and Sango sat speaking quietly while sorting out the ornaments and lights to be hung on the Christmas tree while waiting for Miroku to arrive.

"So, he didn't want to at first?" Sango asked in surprise.

"Oh, no. He wanted to. He was just fighting it, like he thought I wouldn't want to. Stupid man," the miko replied while making a face.

"So how was it?"

"You fucked her in the middle of the fucking woods? What the fuck?!?" Inuyasha screamed in the other room.

Kagome sighed and covered her face with her hands. "Stupid, stupid man."

Sesshoumaru growled through gritted teeth. "You fool! She had to have heard you." He usually wasn't one to kiss and tell, but he'd been unable to resist the desire to share his progress with his brother turned co-conspirator.

"Well, what the fuck were you thinking? She's human! Her body can't handle the cold. She could have gotten sick!" Inuyasha was livid. Sesshoumaru knew how delicate humans could be. He'd been living with one for months! Exposure to the cold could have made her sick, it could have given her frostbite, or worse, hypothermia! He hadn't thought the taiyoukai was so stupid!

"That's what I said," Sesshoumaru started before smirking wickedly. "But she insisted."

"She... insisted?" The hanyou was dumbfounded. Why in the world would  his demure friend suddenly want to have sex out in the open where someone could stumble upon them? Why would she initiate a chase, for that matter? Something was going on with her and he had no idea what.

"Indeed. She went so far as to tempt me by baring herself. She'd even managed to unbutton her shirt under her jacket at some point before I caught her."

"Sneaky wench," Inuyasha said with a grin. Yes, Kagome was definitely up to something.

"Plus, she told me she enjoys it when I growl."

"See?! I told you she doesn't care that you're a demon. She likes it!" That was a definite sign of progress. Everything that Sesshoumaru had introduced her to she'd liked. Too bad the taiyoukai hadn't just been himself in the first place instead of trying to act human. He would have saved himself a lot of trouble.

"While that may be true, it does not solve my problem. I still cannot simply change the way I behave. She would notice."

Inuyasha nodded. "Then I guess you have to keep on with the slow and steady route."

"Yes," the taiyoukai agreed. "But I will still have to confess my lies when I show her what I have been hiding. I do not know if she will be able to forgive that, even if she is not bothered by what she sees."

Inuyasha shook his head. "I still think you're a moron for hiding it in the first place. I don't know how she's going to react when she finds out what you've done."

"Um, guys? Miroku's here. We can start trimming the tree now," Kagome said from the doorway, her tone hesitant.

Sesshoumaru mentally panicked. How long has she been there? How much had she heard? This was going to be a stressful afternoon.
