Until I met him by animerks

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

It was the last day of school of their junior year. All the students talked amongst themselves, about their summer plans. All except Kagome. She sat in the corner of the classroom, away from everyone. She was an outcast, a nobody at her school. She wasn't like the popular group of girls. She was a little on the chubby side, her hair untamed, thick black framed glassed that constantly slid down the bridge of her nose. She sat there minding her own business, writing in her rocket book journal.

: Dear Journal,

Hey, its me again. Today is the last day of school and all I hear is how and what everyone is going to be doing during their summer vacation. I have no friends to go over what I'll be doing. I have no friends to go visit or come visit me. It wasn't always like this. I used to have friends but they all left me. I used to have a boyfriend. I thought I was in love. But after that night at Eri's party, after I gave my innocence to him, to Hojo. It was the next day at school that I found out that he went out with me for a bet, a fucking bet. Apparently I was just a big joke. Now, you, my journal are my only friend. I literally can tell you anything and you won't spread nasty rumors about me. Anyways my summer is going to be boring. I'll be probably be home alone while my mom and dad work. Oh the bell just rang. I have to go. Talk to you later. :

Kagome marked where she wanted it sent and quickly pulled her phone out and brought up the rocket book app and scanned her journal entry, she hit send and put her phone away. She reached into her bag and grabbed one of her sanitary wipes and wiped the page clean. She put her stuff away and got up. She walked up to the front of the class to throw the wipe away. On her way there someone tripped her. Everyone that witnessed her fall laughed, no one helped her, they all just sat there laughing and calling her names. Kagome knew better than to retaliate to their childish games. She got up quietly and continued to the trash can. She threw her garbage away and turned to go back to her seat. As she turned she bumped into one of her used to be friends.

"Watch it freak." Eri sneered.

"I'm sorry." Kagome mumbled.

"You're sorry? You shoved me..." Eri spat.

"No I didn't. It was an accident." Kagome shot back.

Eri's eyed narrowed and all the students in the class started to surround them. Eri shoved Kagome into the students behind her. "I guess I'll have to teach you not to shove people, human or demon alike."

"No, Eri please don't. I didn't mean to. It won't happen again." Kagome pleaded.

"Oh I know it won't." Eri shoved her again. She smiled when the other students started to join in shoving her around. When Kagome came back around Eri pushed her hard enough to make her fall.

"Ah... please stop..." Kagome begged.

"Then kiss my shoes." Eri smirked.

Kagome looked up at her then to the other students standing around, silently begging for someone to help. When it didn't come she moved closer to Eri preparing to be humiliated once again by people she once called friends.

"Eri, that's enough. The teacher is on his way. Remember his threat last time. He'll hold back anyone involved." A male voice rang out.

"Aww come on Hojo. She was about to actually do it this time." Eri whined then walked off to her seat.

All the other students scattered to their own seats. Hojo walked up to Kagome and offered her his hand. Kagome looked at it like it was infected and got up without his help.

"Hey I was only trying to help." Hojo said.

"I'm good thanks. Now go on to your girlfriend. I'm sure she wants to brag about her bullying me, you know like you've done before. Remember that? Or did you forget how we all used to be friends but as soon as I gave you what you wanted, you dropped me and turned everyone against me." Kagome said.

Hojo pulled her away from everyone. "Kagome I'm sorry. I was told you were cheating on me, by multiple people. I was hurt. Oh and she's not my girlfriend." Hojo said.

"I would have never cheated on you and it shows how trusting you were of me. Oh but wait, you can stop with the lies. I know it was a bet on how long it would take for you to sleep with me. But you know what, I'm over it." She tried to move past him.

"Wait, Kagome where did you hear that? Look it doesn't matter, I'm sorry for everything. Please give me another chance. I was stupid for believing those lies. Please. It will be different this time. I promise." Hojo said.

"I don't think that's a good idea. You've hurt me so bad." She softly said.

"Then let me make it up to you. Let me take you out to dinner." Hojo offered.

"A date?" She asked.

"Yes. We used to go on so many of them when we were together. So let's do it again. Please. And if you don't like it or you don't feel that spark we used to have then we'll know that it wasn't meant to be." He said. "I won't stop asking."

"Arg... Fine..." Kagome sighed.

"Sweet. We can meet at the park by the tree we carved in." Hojo said.

Kagome nodded and went back to her seat. Her mind was racing, she didn't know if she should believe him or not. She was lost in her own thoughts that she didn't notice Hojo following and sitting down beside her.

"What are you doing?" Kagome asked. "Everyone is staring."

"Let them. What I'm doing is showing you that I'm serious about us. I don't care if everyone is watching." Hojo said.

Kagome looked down at her hands in her lap. She could feel the glares from all around the room. The rest of the day went by and Hojo did everything and anything to woo her. He wouldn't leave her side, buying her lunch and drinks, writing her cute notes like they used to do. By the end of the day Kagome was beaming with excitement. She hoped that everything would go back to the way they used to be. Word got around school and people started to act nicely towards her. The last school bell rang and all the students cheered and scattered to leave.

"So what time do you want to meet at the park?" Kagome asked.

"Is an hour okay?" Hojo asked.

"Yeah that's fine. I'll see you there." Kagome smiled.

Hojo smiled and leaned towards her and kissed her on her cheek. "I'll see you there."

Kagome nodded and made her way to the car that was waiting for her. Once inside the car Kagome touched her cheek and smiled.

"Miss Kagome, Is there anywhere you need me to take you before going home?" The driver said.

"No, just take me home. Thanks for asking." Kagome said.

The driver nodded and drove her home. "Did something happen at school? You seem excited and more happy than normal." He looked in the rearview mirror.

Kagome smiled. "Can't get anything past you. And yes something happened. Hojo..."

"Miss Kagome, I know I'm speaking out of term but you should watch yourself around that boy. He's only going to hurt you again."

"But I really think he's changed and realized he made a mistake." She said.

"But it took a whole year and a half to realize this? Something seems fishy to me. Just please be careful Miss Kagome. This may be my job but I do consider you family." The driver said.

Kagome smiled. "I don't know about my parents but I consider you family too. How long have you been working for my family?" Kagome asked.

"A few years before you were born." He told her. A few minutes of silence go by and he pulled into the driveway. "Just be careful with that Hojo kid." He said as he stopped in front of the house.

"Thank you Bokuseno. And I will be. I'll see you later or whenever I need to go anywhere." Kagome giggled.

"You got it." He said and watched her get out and run inside.

Once inside she called out. "Mom, Dad?" But she got no answer. Kagome sighed and went upstairs to get ready. She rummaged through her closet and dressers until she found a light blue sundress that she remembered Hojo liked her wearing it when they were together. She laid the dress on her bed and went back to find the matching shoes. It took her only twenty minutes to get ready. She wrote a small note for her parent in case she wasn't back by the time they got home. When she opened the door and noticed her driver was still there.

"Miss Kagome, Going somewhere? Need me to take you?" He asked.

"Oh no, I'm just going to the park, right over there." Kagome said and pointed to the park.

"If you need me just call. I'll be there as soon as possible." Bokuseno said.

Kagome smiled and waved bye as she walked down the driveway. She messed and adjusted her dress as she made her way to the park. She couldn't help or stop the smile forming on her face. A few minutes went by of her walking when she realized she had arrived to their meet up spot. She sighed happily when she seen her and Hojo's carving.

"Doesn't feel like it's been over a year since we did that huh?"

Kagome gasped and jumped. She turned and giggled. "Oh Hojo, you scared me."

"Sorry about that. It's been awhile since I've been here. Brings back memories." Hojo said.

"Honestly this is the first time since we broke up. It hurt too much..." She said softly.

"I'm sorry." Hojo said.

Kagome smiled. "It's ok, it's in the past. So where are we going for our date?" Kagome asked.

Hojo laughed softly. "About that..."

Just as she heard his words she was blinded by water being thrown in her face, then flour being thrown in different directions.

"H-Hojo?" Kagome coughed.

Hojo laughed. "Do you honestly think I'd take you back. You're seriously delusional if you thought all that bullshit I was spewing. I wouldn't be caught dead being with you again you freak. You disgusting cow." He laughed more making everyone involved laugh as well.

Clumped tears filled her eyes and fell silently down her cheeks. She looked around and seen everyone from school laughing at her. "You all have made a really big mistake. I hope all your parents enjoy the call from my families lawyers. I'm done with all of you. Have fun getting charged with harassment."

"No one is going to believe a worm like you." Hojo said with a smug smirk.

"Really? Well if they won't believe me then I think they'll believe the security footage. Yeah guess who's company put the surveillance cameras in this park. Smile you're all on camera." Her voice full of venom.

Realization struck everyone and they ran. Hojo just stood there with wide eyes until someone drug him off. Kagome fell to the ground, surrounded by water and flour. She cried until she fell asleep. When she woke up someone was carrying her. She looked around then looked up to who it was.

"No worries Miss Kagome. It is only me. When you didn't come home after your parents got home. They told me and a few police officers to come looking for you. You're phone signal led me to the park. Who did this to you? It was that Hojo kid, wasn't it?"

"You were right. I should have listened to you. I was so hopeful but it was all a lie. Everyone from school did this." She started crying again. "I need to talk to my parents. I'm tired of the harassment."

Bokuseno smirked. "Well your parents are waiting for you at home."

Kagome nodded. She looked around and noticed they were almost home. "Thanks for coming to get me. And I'm sorry to have put you through this."

"No need to apologize." He said. He carried her up the driveway and to the door. He set her down at the door, making sure she was stable he opened the door. As soon as she stepped through both her parents rushed to her side.

"Oh Kagome. I'm so happy you're ok." Her mother spoke. "Wait, dove what happened to you?" Her mother asked.

"Who did this?" Her father asked right after.

Kagome bursted into tears. When she wouldn't answer the driver spoke up.

"It was that Hojo kid and her classmates from school. It all happened in the park sir."

Her father's eyes narrowed. "Perfect, easier to identify everyone. Thank you Bokuseno." He took out his phone and took a few pictures of her for more evidence.

"I want them to pay." Kagome mumbled.

"They will. Go clean up. We have something to discuss." He told her.

Kagome nodded and went to her room. Tears continued to fall from her from her as she undressed. She threw the dress away not wanting to have any reminder of that day or of Hojo. She took a quick shower, washing all the crusted flour off of her. Once done and dressed she made her way downstairs to her parents.

"Perfect timing. Come eat. We need to talk to you." Her mother spoke.

Kagome looked between her parents then nodded and sat down at the table. "What's up?"

"Well first, I called our lawyers and they are looking into all the kids that did that to you. Now second, this summer you mother and I have to go overseas for work. Now because you aren't eighteen yet we can't leave you here alone. And we aren't able to take you with us. So we're thinking maybe a summer camp. We'll let you pick which one. I know this is really short notice but we leave in a week and camp sign-ups and sign-ins end in a few days. So please choose quickly." Her father explained.

Kagome sat there in shock, not knowing what to say. "I know it's a lot to take in sweetie. But this is for the best. Maybe you'll make some new better friends." Her mother spoke up. She slid the brochures towards her.

Kagome looked down at the piece of paper then looked up between both her parent. She knew there was no changing their minds. So she could go willingly or she could fight and she not have a choice in anything. She picked the brochures and began looking through them. She looked through them several times but only one kept catching her eye. "This one. Camp Midoriko."

Both parents looked at each other then nodded. "We'll send Bokuseno with you. And of course you'll have your card in case you need anything." Her father said.

Kagome nodded. "When do I leave?" She asked.

"Two days." Her mother said.

"Do you think I can go shopping for some new summer clothes and other things I might need?" Kagome asked softly.

"Yes of course. We can go tomorrow. First thing in the morning." Her mother said.

"Now that is out of the way let's eat." Her father said.

XxX
