I actually strugled a lot with this one and rewrote it three times. Still not sure if ts good. Your opinion dear readers? I am not very confident when it comes to drabbles! thx for reading everyone!

p.s. very important! I was thinking about this prompt and nothing was coming to my head until Kairou Watoshimi’s “Worshippers” came to mind and tada! So yes credit goes to this lovely piece, it inspired me. A deep bow! I love her art!

Prompt: Divine

200 Words

The moon’s silver rays gently caressed her form, embracing her like a mother did her child.

The wind enveloped her in its hug like a father.

He drank up her everything that was her.

...the way the silver light of the moon created a silver shimmering halo around her silhouette.

...tears shining like precious diamond.

...her distant sad gaze filled with melancholy.

Everything about her seemed...

Ethereal...

Divine...

A daughter of the moon.

..and he was her worshipper.

Her delicate hand was still engulfed in his palm.

He only hoped it would last longer.

This moment when she was so close he could feel her breath.

The spell was shattered when she chuckled humourlessly.

Almost like himself.

“It must be Divine Retribution,” she mumbled softly.

He arched his brow in wonder and she added:

“I don’t deserve happiness.”

“Hn, preposterous,” he interjected and she smiled sadly.

“I was selfish. I..” she took a deep breath that physically hurt.

“I was jealous...” her fingers tightened around his own involuntarily, like she didn’t realize she was doing it.

“..I was... relieved when she...Kikyo, died..”

“You’re only human,” he consoled her and she smiled sadly asking:

“Coming from you... is this a compliment?”
