Dark Desires by Camille

Life

She had not a clue of why she was here, how she was here. All she knew was the alarming rate of blood that spilled from her wounds.

With passing seconds her skin cooled, losing its soft pink hue. It would be only minutes until she would kiss this world goodbye and with that true panic took root. They say when you are about to die your life flashes before you. You see all the good memories along with your regrets no matter how buried you made them. And ever so slowly as you watch your life as it starts to fade away.

But Kagome did not see any memories, all she seen was betrayal that laid before her. It was a man with long silky hair, hair that she brushed for years, a face she came to love, and a person that she thought she could count on. Yet this man who she held closely to her heart had done one thing he promise he would never do, he had betrayed her.

Promises were broken this night, it would be the last thing she seen before she departed.  This world could truly be cruel.

“Inuyasha . .” Her voice seemed so weak and far away, she would laugh if she could, but even that simple act too much strength she no longer had. It was if she was an infant once more, needing someone else to help her with the simplest of tasks.

He knew she called out to him, wishing he could turn back and take her. To get her, help to make sure she lived to see another day. Yet wishing was the only thing he could do at that time. He knew he could not turn to her, to reach out for her, or even look at her in this moment.

A man standing far off told him he could only pick one. He was backed into a corner, with no way out. If he did not choose one both would die tonight. Leaving him alone once more, his biggest fear. Sure, he had a few friends, but they did not care for him like Kagome or Kikyo did. So, to save one he had to let the other die no matter how bad it shattered his heart.

“I’m sorry Kagome” His voice was barely a whisper, already knowing she could not hear him. He did not want her to hear him and his pathetic apologies. Saying sorry would do no good for her, he was allowing her to die just to save someone who might not even be worth it. He could never make up for what he has done. Ghost of the past would surely follow him until death, and he knew he deserved it.

Before he could change his mind and back down, he grabbed hold of the other woman and walked off quickly, shooting a glare at the man who had caused all of this. Wishing that his glare could rip the man to pieces for what he forced him to do.

His feet moved fast with determination, he had to get Kikyo to a hospital. If she were to die, that would mean Kagome would have died in vein. He couldn’t slow down, couldn’t reconsider if he made the wrong choice. Inuyasha knew he would have the rest of his life to suffer for allowing Kagome to die, right now he had to save Kikyo.

Kagome watched with drooped eyes as her love walked away with someone else. He chose to save the other girl, his first love, Kikyo. Tears leaked from broken blue eyes, as the silver hair faded from view. She knew the tears came from the betrayal, the pain had numbed itself after the second blow. Only pain she could feel was the ache in her heart, to her that hurt more then her battered body.

“Now the fun will begin” Was the last thing she heard before darkness took over her.
