Vampire Queen by Urami Bushi

Chapter One

A/N: I don’t own Inuyasha or Twilight. Even though I’m only using a certain aspect of it. I know I have a story that's not finished but I got the idea for this new fic and I wanted to post it because it was swimming around my head driving me nuts... Enjoy.

Kagome walked through the worn path to back to Edo, she had gone to the neighboring village to help a women give birth. As she made her way, she allowed herself to get lost in her thoughts. Her life definitely hadn’t turned out the way she’d hoped, of course her friends got there happy ending and she was happy for them but she couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous. After the battle against Naraku and wishing the jewel out existence three years ago, her and her companions were able to move on with their lives. Shortly after Sango, and Miroku’s marriage ceremony they, and a newly revived Kohaku had gone to rebuild the slayer’s village. Her adopted son Shippo stayed in Edo for a while before venturing off in search of other kitsune who could help him master his fox magic. Inuyasha having gotten a second chance with Kikyou, mated her and had chosen to go travel a bit before settling in the mainland.Even Rin and Sesshomaru had returned to the west, every once in awhile the western Lord would bring his ward for a visit but that stopped once Shippo left. Everyone had settled down and moved on with their lives except Kagome, she had taken over temporarily for Kaede after she had passed on but she knew that staying in Edo was not where she wanted to be for the rest of her life. She feared that she would never find someone special to settle down with, that she’d be forever alone.

Feeling an aura a short distance away broke Kagome out her thoughts, shaking her head for allowing herself to become distracted and not noticing sooner. She walked off the path and in the direction the aura was coming from and stopped as she came upon a youkai pinned to a tree by what looked like a holy arrow. Knowing that he wouldn’t be able to free himself without someone with holy powers, she hesitantly moved closer.

“Don’t come any closer Miko, I may be wounded but by the time you call your reiki I’ll already have snapped your pretty little neck.” The youkai hissed baring his teeth.

“I mean you no harm, I just want to help.” She said hoping he didn’t carry out his threat.

The youkai scoffed “A miko wanting to help a youkai, how sweet. Get lost.” He sneered.

“Fine suit yourself, but from where I’m standing that arrow in your shoulder is starting to slowly burn away the flesh around it, and if you expect to get free you’d better hope another monk or miko comes along and is willing to help you because that’s the only way you’re going to get free.” She said as began walking away. Looking down at his shoulder he realized she was right, hanging his head in defeat he called her back.

“So if you don’t mind my asking, how did this happen anyway?” she asked as she examined his wound

“I was attacked by one of your kind.” He said harshly. Kagome looked up at him in confusion “You know a miko. You people see youkai and automatically attack us without a second thought.”

“They’re not my people.” She said looking him in the eyes “Those people judge you based off something you had no control over. They judge you for what you are not who you are, there are plenty of youkai who do the same.”

The youkai thought over her words, she was such a strange onna and quite beautiful even by youkai standards. She had the clearest blue eyes that reminded him of the sky, and long raven tresses much like his own. Her miko garb didn’t offer much of a view of her body, but he could tell that beneath the garb she had very generous and luscious curves. The onna smelled of blue figs from India and orange blossoms, a most intoxicating aroma. He was broken out of his reverie by the onna sweet voice.

“Ready?” she asked placing one hand on his chest and the other around the arrow. Before he could protest Kagome pulled the arrow out of his shoulder.

“ugnnn.” He grunted gripping his shoulder.

“There you’re free.” She said as she smiled up at him. Nodding his head in thanks, youkai stood up as did Kagome.

“I am most grateful onna-““Kagome my name is KA-GO-ME.” She interrupted “Not miko, not onna, not wench. Just Kagome.”

“Forgive me Kagome.” He said bowing slightly “I am Tenzin Lord of the Eastern Covens.”

“The covens? Wait you’re Chishio youkai?” Kagome asked surprised. In all her years in feudal japan she had never seen a chishio youkai, most ningen believed that the fabled vampire youkai was just that.

“That I am Kagome.” He said taking a step towards her “Are you afraid?” Kagome reached out with a reiki charged hand and poked Tenzin in the chest, lightly burning him and causing him to take a step back.

“Not really.” She said flatly. Smirking at her lack of fear Tenzin continued to gaze down at the miko. Noticing his eyes on her made Kagome blush and turn her head to the side.

“I like her”. He thought to himself.

“Well I guess I’ll see you around Tenzin-sama.” Said Kagome as she readjusted her bow and quiver and began to make her way back toward the path. Nodding his head once again he allowed her to leave his presence. Regretting it the moment he could no long smell her tantalizing scent anymore.

Kagome made it back to Edo, her mind still on the youkai from earlier, he had been so handsome. He had smooth sun kissed skin, and the lightest blue green eyes that looked nearly white, long ebony hair that was pull back into a braid that went down his back. He had the most intricate markings, they looked like what people in her time would call tribal tattoos. They started high on his forehead, stretching from temple to temple and ending just under his brow right between his eyes, before starting again just under the line of his bottom lip and stretching down his throat to disappear into his haori. Kagome couldn’t help but wonder how far the markings and went and blanched when the noticed her desire to find out.

“Geez, I’m such a hentai. But I do hope I see him again.” She thought to herself as she made her way to Kaede’s hut.
