As a side note... I'm assuming the writing on the mirror is "Chansu no kagami", meaning "mirror of chance/opportunity"  wondering if you had really wanted to keep that for a revelation later on or some sort of plot herring :)

I wonder who this stronger was and why the sting upon touching?  Was he a Yokai in disguise?  Or someone she should know or get to know?

Short its a nice start but direction needs to be clearer, so I know she was the canon Kagome, and has a career in archeology..... And a metrosexual co worker.... Kkkk and grandpa is still kicking around.... Nice start ....
