What an interesting introduction of the 'new' character and I'll keep my guesses as to who it might be.  I'm curious to learn the meaning behind a being not having a red string - or has it just been hidden/cloaked in some way?  Hmm, only the writer knows...

Wonderful start. I can't wait to see where you go with this. I only have one problem, it is difficult to read since it is in the "block of text" format. You might want to fix that. But otherwise I'm liking it. Good luck with your writing!
