Good luck with the wisdom teeth. I had mine surgically removed, and to be honest it was the fact that my jaw locked shut that hurt, not my incisions. I got really good at making ultra thin grilled cheese sandwhichs that week- lol. One tip from a Chronic Pain Patient: taking pain meds before the pain reaches the point of no return allows them to work better. The worse the pain gets, the more nasty chemicals your body will produce, which means when you take the meds they don't work as well. Instead, if you take the meds before what you know will be a painful event or as soon as you know your going to need them, they will give you optimal results.

Great chapter. It was terrific that you posted even though you were going to have a painful procedure done.
