I cannot tell you how happy this new chapter made me, for you to tackle a subject and nuance so summarily glossed over. For Kagome to set reconciliation as a condition was so perfect, as was her dogged determination to stick to it in case it failed, and showing her loyalty ultimately belonged to those she'd known longer, who were part of her family (or 'pack') in a way. I'd imagine that, true to her character, friendship would trump romance in every single case.

As for how the two siblings handled it... I like that it's rather straightforward, that they're not pretending to eachother, perhaps even learning new things about the other they never would've guessed at. It's good too see, though, that they're not chummy; no extreme gestures, no easy 'let's forget and forgive', and they've only built the fragile beginnings of an extremely tentative trust. Inuyasha is still the (over)sensitive loudmouth with lots of bluster (though his hidden hope is adorable) and Sesshoumaru is still cold, stoic, and snooty, yet they seem to take baby steps forward nonetheless.

Altogether this is absolutely wonderful.

Awesome!  Seriously XD I've been meaning to read the second chapter of this ficlet for ages.  But I'm kinda lazy... >.<.  XD Awesome, I adore Inu here, especially since he get's to maybe check out how Sesshy does his sword-smithery stuff.  Very kewl, and very original.

O.O Vera mysterious, but hugely cute.  My favourite scene is when they make mochi, plus the dash of shirtlessness was awesome.  I might have to wait another year for the next bit, but it will definitely be worth it.  Thanks for adding this wonderful story, and another chapter Forthright!

This is a superb story! Now that you've said that this might become a yearly-updated story, I find myself unsure of being able to wait a year for the next chapter...

I read the first part of this story over on ff.net around the beginning of the month, if my memory serves me correctly. At the time I had read only a small handful of SessKag fics and I was being hyper picky about what I read, because I wasn't really sure how I felt about the pairing on the whole yet. When I finished the first chapter of your story, which seemed like a oneshot at the time, I was both pleased beyond belief because of how fantastic it was and sorely disappointed because it was over. I really can't tell you how glad I am that you deiced to continue this and to grace us with another wonderful chapter.

Your writing is superb and your story-telling abilities are second to none! Fabulous work!

WOW. I was in complete shock wheni saw you updated. soooo happpy!!! anways great chapter, have to say the first one took my breath away, this one was a little slower but I still apreicated the continuation very much. im sad I have to wait another year for the next chapter, but beggers cant be choosers right? so untill next year ill be waiting patiently.

I could not have asked for a better story than that which you spun in the first chapter. I never expected the delight of a second chapter, a chapter in which the reconciliation of the brothers is begun. Of course, I am in love with both brothers as you have created them. Your character construction is subtle, measured and complete. You have made of these anime characters real people, people with feelings, concerns, ambitions and desires. Kagome is a wonderful person, full of love and compassion and a desire to heal all things. Her family is warm and delightful. I would love to live in this world you have written, if only for the love and laughter!

There could be more, but I was so enthralled with the tale that I only noticed this one. Maybe after I've read this one or two dozen times...

I hope you know that making us wait an ENTIRE YEAR for the next installment is sheer evil. But you probably already figured that out , didn't you? *sigh* It was amazing. And wonderful. And more amazing. And if anyone can write a conceivable one-day courtship, and make it work, it's you. Although, i do find it rather amusing, because I remember the first time you posted a SessKag story. You specifically stated that the only way you could see the relationship making any sense at all, would be if it was a very drawn out, and slow-to-build sort of thing. I suspect your opinions may have changed a little. XP *is not complaining in the least* So, the point of this rant? You rock. And so do any and all of your stories that you choose to share with us.
