As for your questions, Katsuo approved of Kagome, and does not object to Inuyasha and Kikyo dating, but I still would assume he feels a bit sour about the situation since his original plans did not carry out. He'll adjust to it. Though, just imagine how he'll flip out once he finds out who Kag's preferred man truly is. ;D

As for Hiten, he will play an important role in the chapters to come.
