A response to a review for Clash of Alphas. My comments are in red.

I really like this story but I'm a bit confused about parts of it that I don't understand. The parts that I find confusing are these-(copy & paste from the chapters they are from)Ch.4-(Sessh's thoughts) He wondered why the hanyou bothered with the flimsy pretence. No one believed he was the Alpha in his pack. Sure everyone humoured him, but it was only to soothe his pride because it was very clear it was the miko who was Alpha.

This is how Sesshoumaru is seeing things. In Kagome’s mind InuYasha is the leader, she accepts it because he is stronger/fighter/familiar with this era. She sees her role as support, medic, shard tracker and purifier. Human, different cultural backgrounds. He sees her as the pack Alpha.

She was the one who made the decisions. Which direction the pack would travel, when they would take a break or set up camp, she procured food to feed her pack mates, and she determined who ate what and how much.(Isn't he stating that Kagome is the Alpha female of this pack?) Again, this is what he sees/perceives. Not how the inu-taichi see themselves. Kagome is doing what she can to support the group, can’t fight well but can bring supplies from her time.

Ch.8 has 4 paragraphs & in P.1(it states)Kagome did not know but in the daiyoukai’s mind she was one of the few strong enough to challenge his authority and make it stick. In P.2-(1st Sessh admits/thinks this)But with Kagome… the daiyoukai was not so certain that he could defeat her; because with her it would not be a clash of blades but a battle of wills. For Sesshoumaru Alpha is not just fighting skills but leadership and thinking. Kagome can defy his authority and make it stick by finding a logical/acceptable reason why it should be. You know how some people can always twist you in knots? Make you think up is down? All without a clear visible insult? Kind of like what Miroku does. She was strong, stubborn, and absolute when she gave her loyalty. If she ever chose to move against him she would be a formidable opponent. Sesshoumaru knew that on an intellectual level and his beast knew it in the most primal of ways.(Doesn't the fact that in Ch.4 admits Kagome is the Alpha female There are different degrees of Alpha. In a pack made of weaker beings there will be an Alpha but Alpha A might be much weaker/submissive to Alpha B who is stronger, higher level. & then in Ch.8 both he & his beast aren't certain he can defeat her imply that Sessh sees Kagome as more of an equal than one who is lower than him?) There are different types of battle grounds – physical, spiritual, intellectual, etc. In wits and wills Kagome can match, can equal him, maybe beat him. Sess still sees himself as the unbeatable fighter At the end of P.3(he then thinks) It was truly unfortunate the miko had reached a level in his circle that made it dishonourable to kill her. It would solve so many problems.(I don't understand-In CP.8, P.2-he & his beat were uncertain he could defeat her & in P.3,it's like he's implying it'd be easy to just kill her?)  Defeat is different from kill. Defeat in this case is getting the other person to submit and admit the other person is stronger, to stop fighting. Sess can definitely kill her. Hello acid claws and youkai speed. Human night or when InuYasha is distracted by Kikyo, sneak into the camp and off with her head.

In Ch.8,P.4-(His thoughts are)But then again killing was rather tedious and unsatisfactory. Making the miko submit would be more of a challenge. The miko had to be made to submit, to see and accept that she was below them in strength and authority and that he was Her Alpha… that she was willing to accept his control, to be leashed.

rn Again pointing out… killing is easy, making other to accept defeat, to submit, is difficult. You see that clearly with InuYasha and Sesshoumaru. I see Sess as the better fighter. If InuYasha ever lost Tetsaiga – was disarmed – there is no way he can win or even control himself in a fight.

I don't know what it means,in this story;for him to make her submit, what he has to do to make her submit to him or what it means for her to submit to him,accept his control & to be leashed. I don't know if it invloves anything sexual or if she's still a virgin(in this story) or if a females virginity is important in a pack(in this story),if it's considered dishonorable to take a females virginity unless you desire her as your mate or if Inu youkai mate for life (in this story),but I'm dying to know and I hope we find out. I believe that the Alpha male is #1 & the Alpha female is #2 in pack society and Sessh has already admitted Kagome is the Alpha (female) of her pack,that their packs are now combined and that Sessh is THE Alpha (male) but I have to wait and read to find out's going to happen,if anything,and what will happen afterwards. I can't wait.

Some of your questions will be answered (dominance relevance to sex), some won't because it is not relevant for this particular story (virginity, inuyoukai society). You'll just have to wait and see where I'm taking it.
