About Me

I love reading and writing. My muses are lazy and slow and often like to leave my head so I'm trying to find them again by reading more. So I guess right now I'm just reading.

One day soon I hope to start my own full-length story, but right now I've only got a few one-shots up my sleeve. I may be trying too hard to make a really great story that I may be missing out on writing entirely. Currently, I'm attempting to work on a story borrowing a plot from Mysticangeldust who is kindly letting me use an idea she had from the "Borrowed Muse" forum. I've started it but I don't intend to post until I know I can write it consistently because I don't want to start something I can't finish. I also had another story idea in the works, but it doesn't look like that will be up any time soon either...

(In case you're curious, the meaning of "Ruriame" is roughly "glass rain")

and yes i do get very crazy dreams. i dont know about you but i dream every night. i'm aware that i am dreaming and usually recall at least one dream by the time i wake up. if you don't mind me asking, what kind of stuff have you dreamed about?

awww thanks. i'm that way too. i absolutely LOVE rosieB's fics. i'm actually waiting for her to finish "beside you in time" before I start it. i am a marathon reader. i like to read everything all at once =P her "the broken miko" n it's sequel are one of my all time favs for sess/kag. "the once and future taiyoukai" is really good too! oh dear..i'm fangirling XD

i'm taking AM slow because i've never done such a complicated fic. i HAVE to set the background up or everyone going to be giving me "what the hell is going on?!" reviews XD TFOTS wise, it's goin slow becyz i want kagome to develop more of a relationship with inuyasha before sess comes back into her life. and that's all i'm telling you for now =D

i agree. but 20 odd chapters of not seein sess is getting a little ridiculous =P i have a fairly good idea where he's going to come in but be patient. he's cominnnng =D don't worry...i got the whole story planned out around. from beginning to end. i just need to fill in the details between the key events =)

haha. that'z good =) it sounds like i'm doing things right then =P since this was my first time writing a story in the regency era, i actually had to google things here and there to make sure i wasn't too off. wiki is definitely my best friend =D

i dont think my other fic is quiet catching as much attention. the assassin theme has been used over and over again so i can't say that the readers would be particularly impressed with it. also, i only have a few chapters out now so nothing really interesting has happened yet. not that i would say that the massacre of one's entire family is not notable XD i would say that AM is in more of a prologue phase at the moment =) i remember bemoaning the fact that the prologue for LOTR: The fellowship of the ring, taking forever before getting to the actual story but it looks like i'm guilty of that myself! XD

thank you for your wonderful review! i attempted to style my writing after the regency era but as you may have noticed, it is not quite accurate =P i'm glad that i'm not boring you with all those talks of dresses and etiquette. thank you once again and please keep reading and reviewing!

By the way, chapter four of Rin's artwork has a fairly good insight into my Sesshoumaru.

I thank you very much for your kind and insightful review. At least I know now that I did spark emotion in my readers. I'll go back and look for the typos you mentioned.

Speaking of Tsumago, my ryokan cost me 8200 yen per night, while the pricier ones cost around 12000 yen per night. 4000 yen can feed me for 7 meals, so...

If you look at the last picture on my profile page, you can see this long leaf-shaped plate (it is green in color) on the tray. There are three types of food on it. Starting from the left, you can see this light brownish mass, and it's actually sweet chestnut paste moulded into a pretty shape. It was really yummy! It is known as kurikinton in Japanese. The next one in the middle is seasoned flowers. It's this tiny flower thingy found in the mountains behind the ryokan (which is something I intend to make Sesshoumaru and Kagome do later in the story - to go into the mountains to gather ingredients). It was pretty good, if you are comfortable with the idea of eating flowers. Last but definitely not least, the blackish mass on the right is the GRASSHOPPER dish. They were deep fried and then stir-fried in a brownish sauce, and ironically, they tasted like crispy anchovies!!

I have no idea if you will be interested in knowing what the rest are, but I will just do a quick introduction of the food on the tray. Right beside the leaf-shaped plate on the right is sashimi, which is raw fish slices. I have no idea what fish that was but it tasted great! The dish on the top right corner is sanzai tempura, which is deep-fried mountain vegetables. The tiny dish contains green tea salt, which is the greenish powder you see.

The small dish on the left of the sanzai tempura is what we call aemono in Japanese. Aemono generally refers to anything that has been mixed in a dressing, and this was a mixture of green and red peppers with cold soba in a sesame dressing. The small dish beside it would be vinegared radish (light yellow), mountain vegetables and a single cherry tomato. Above those two dishes would be the stewed fish, which was the BEST dish out of the entire tray. I've never had fish so flavorsome...the sauce in which they put it had practically invaded the entire fish LOL. On the left of the fish is this tiny, flat dish containing pickled radish slices and something else which I can't remember.

On the left side of the tray, you can see this large bowl containing brownish and blackish stuff. This is known as nimono (stewed/boiled foods) in Japanese cuisine, and we had stewed bamboo shoots (YUMMYYY), radish and seaweed. It came close to being my favorite dish! The tiny bowl in front of the large one contained boiled mountain vegetables which tasted real strange so I left it there. The squarish bowl in front contained pickled ginger flowers and some other vegetable. It is really an acquired taste though. The Canadians with whom I made friends with at the ryokan could not get used to the taste of the ginger flowers, but since ginger flowers are used in Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisine, I had no problem eating it.

LOL I am so sorry if I bored you with my rambling on the food! Not to mention the dreadful descriptions too! It's just that I figured you might be interested in knowing what's what

Hey Ruri, sorry for the delayed reply! Anyway, awww you make me blush with your kind words! I am really not that good; there are so many more amazing authors here on Dokuga. And it's never too late to make friends

I actually respect the way you respect the fandoms (do I even make sense? LOL), in the sense that you post only what you are personally satisfied with. That's a very respectable thing to do, and I really mean what I say because I've come across some rather shoddy works in my years of reading fanfiction. I don't wish to be mean, but I get rather annoyed when I come across authors who don't even bother with checking their spelling and grammar. English is not my first language (My mother tongue is Mandarin), so if I make the effort to try to write decently, I tend to expect others to do so as well. So for that, I respect you and your determination in writing well.

It is pretty cool to have gotten started on writing with a friend! While you might feel as if you haven't really written anything on your own, the fact that you contributed to the writing remains. That is good enough in my opinion. You have to believe in yourself, and I am sure once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to write your own stories. As you've said, slowly and surely

I totally agree with how you feel about writing! I like to space out and think whenever I am on the go (bus rides on rainy days are amazingly inspiring) and music definitely helps. How do you remember your dreams? LOL I can NEVER remember them. Speaking of Happily Ever After, yes, I am pretty inspired especially since I came back from Tsumago only two weeks ago. It's such a perfect place.

If you have any questions with regards to Japanese, please feel free to ask me! I've been learning the language for 10 years, and LOL it's kinda embarrassing to say this but I've been told by Japanese people that I speak like a native. So if you have questions, just feel free to ask. The initial stages of learning are tough, but it gets easier subsequently. What other language are you learning? I am tempted to take lessons in Korean! Just so I can understand what boybands like Super Junior and SHINee are singing.

The cop for cancer is every year. They collect money, for like 3 weeks, well donations, then they give it, and get their heads shaved.

THANK YOU for the nice words on Blood Stained. Sometimes I feel like Im screwing up the story, so it's nice to know I'm not. Lol
