Thanks so much for your review for Kindred Spirits! I'm not sure if you're that same Eva that consistently leaves notes for Birds of a Feather, but thank you for your input, nonetheless! I'm honestly awed by your bond with your S.O. and happy that you shared that information with me. I've always felt that there needs to be a balance in a healthy relationship between two people, or, at least, some type of common reason for them to stay together. Oftentimes, people get swept up in the idea of romance versus determining whether or not they and their love interest are compatible. A weird analogy would be if one's potential S.O. acts as the glue that seals the cracks in one's soul that they weren't aware of having before. Or, maybe the missing piece that completes their very essence of being. The relationship shouldn't feel forced or obligatory. I hope that makes sense.

But going back to your kind review... I'm really glad you like the story so far! It's been sort of a struggle to balance just straight prose and dialogue and not have you guys be up to your eyeballs in words and overly large paragraphs (I blame Sesshoumaru's introspective nature). 100-word drabbles are much simpler in terms of structure and constraint. A few 1000-something worded chapters are something else. They're an interesting challenge though.

And strangely enough, I have an easier time fleshing out Sesshoumaru's character than Kagome's. She's seen and experienced so much in the series that I have to remember to include the human sensibilities that she should have. In this sense, I think their parallel is quite lovely.

Anyway, I hope you don't mind my rambling again (it's a habit, I swear!), and I hope you look forward to future chapters. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter; I really enjoyed writing it. I think it might actually be my favourite so far! If Sesshomaru doesn't already know, I'm sure he will quickly learn of Kagome's love for a nice, warm bath.

Rin is, without a doubt, one of my favourite characters, and with Sesshomaru as her guardian/father, you just know that she is going to grow up to be a strong, independent woman Thanks again for the review!

And yes, I think Shippo's agility and size are very misleading in how much he actually weighs. I don't think I'd be too perky when carrying a small child on my back for any long periods of time!

That is indeed a very good summary of the situation! Sess is not intentionally being unhelpful, though, he's just playing the game the only way he knows how!

Eventually Kagome will figure out the name of the game, but it will take a bit longer for her to realise that he actually is playing for keeps. ;D
