About Me

Hello there :)

I first became a fan of the Inuyasha series when I was about 20 years old. The minute Sesshoumaru's character was introduced, I was instanly intrigued. I knew that beneath that cold, calculationg demeanor, there was a complex range of emotions waiting to be discovered. I also fell in love with Kagome's character. I admired her boldness and strength of heart.

Takahashi always makes such lovely characters and I'm so glad they can find new life in fanfictions. The Kagome/Sesshoumaru pairing holds particular delight for me. The series gave such a wealth of ideas and material, it's so lovely to see people take take them up and make them completely their own. There are so many talented authors here and it's nice to be able to come to a place where people do so much with the characters. This place is bursting with creativity and it's truely been inspiring.

I've been a long-time reviewer, but after reading so many wonderful stories, it has given me the courage to start writing my own ^_^? Hopefully one day I will finish it and it can bring enjoyment to others, like everyone else's stories do for me.

I wouldn't have added the intermission - no matter how long r0o would pester me for more - if I hadn't felt it was needed.

When I started writing fanfiction, I wanted to write funny stories. Fluffy stories.
A few years in and after going through stuff like graduating high school, moving to a new town to live on my own, starting university, falling in love and getting my heart broken, funny or fluffy stories would not do it any longer.
I wanted romance and I wanted drama.
But above all else, I wanted a touch of realism.

Of course this is all fiction, but too often we see these characters glorified and made perfect. But no one is. As you said, life is unfair. There are no perfect solutions, and it never even crossed my mind to write this story like that. Because that would not be realistic.

I was very happy to read your review and find out that despite differing opinions you had accepted the outcome of this tale. It means so much to me. I think you really put that message into words brilliantly, and I thank you for that.

Thank you so much for your review of Convivial!
The imbalance has been intentional for a greater portion of the story. However, without giving too much away, that imbalance will be addressed very shortly, seeing as I've written a bit ahead.
Thank you again!

Thank you for reviewing 'Made of'. I'm glad you are enjoying it
This was exactly what I was going for but tbh getting Miroku back to normal was bound to be easier than the others.

Heh, thank you. ^^

And it's perfectly alright, you're entitled to your opinion and free to share it with others. I actually kinda like criticism - it is refreshing, and it forces me to look inwards. And sometimes it helps me to understand things from a different angle. That's a valuable lesson in itself.

I actually do agree with you in part.

I also understand what you're saying, and I admit that Sesshoumaru and Kagome could have survived the life at the castle. Of course, that always was a possibility.
But then, the story would cease to be mine. Whether because of the additional flare of drama or because of my personal detestment towards "Lord Sesshoumaru", I never wanted the story to take such a path.

Having to separate the family because of it is cruel, but in my opinion, had Sesshoumaru and Kagome escaped and taken their son with them, they would have been even more selfish and irresponsible. They would have left the West without an heir, and I just don't see such behaviour from then.

As much as I wanted to have Sesshoumaru and Kagome free, I also had to acknowledge that the Western lands must have an heir. To get out of dilemma, I could not come up with any better solution. -shrug-
Feedback from KyonKyon01: That's true. I'm sorry for giving you a hard time. It's just an interesting dilemma. Again I admire you sticking to your vision

Thank you, for your lenghty review on Chain.

Thank you for expressing your opinion.

No, the moral message is not "It's ok that they abandoned their child because Sesshoumaru needs to be free and Kagome didn't really want to be pregnant anyways" The moral message is that first and foremost, a parent wants his/her child to be happy, and is willing to give ANYTHING in his/her power to ensure that happiness. And Kagome did not believe her son would have grown happy if his parents would eventually be worn down before his very eyes by the life they hated and never suited them.
Her decision was not 100% selfish. This is Kagome we are talking about, she does not even know what 'selfish' means.
But of course, you are free to disagree with me.

And I'm not stupid enough to think that their son would always be okay with his fate, that there would never be any moments of bitterness or hate towards his parents. But I still believe that eventually, when he's old enough to understand, he will be able to build a good relationship with his parents.

I also think that the characters HAVE grown. Kagome has become stronger, and if she hadn't, she would have never been able to make the decision that broke her heart.
The justification that they can have more pups was mainly a way for Sesshoumaru to try to make the idea of losing his child more bearable, to help him accept it. He was not thinking of replacing his firstborn. He was disappointed since he had been looking forward to being a father. He was trying to reassure himself that even if he may never have the chance to be a father to his firstborn, it would not mean he would never be a father.
Giving up on their child is yet one more struggle for Sesshoumaru and Kagome to overcome, and their shared pain will bring them closer and make their relationship stronger.

You asked how the life of the lord can be alright for Yoshimaru but not to Sesshoumaru and Kagome. Because unlike Kagome, he was born to that time and place, and will be trained from early on to his station. Because unlike Sesshoumaru, he won't be subjected to such harsh expectations and will be allowed more freedom so that he will not become to hate the life at the Castle.

Kimiko has changed, but that does not mean that the all of Western court had changed, that their vassals had changed, that their subjects had changed. As Sesshoumaru has always been cold, unfeeling and "perfect", everyone would expect him to be just that in the future, too.
Kagome would have eventually been worn down by the strict routine and would have lost her inner fire.

Of course the whole what-if scenario is open to argumentation. But this is how I see it and have been trying to make my readers see it as well.
Because the story was never meant to take a course where Kagome and Sesshoumaru would have lived happily in the court of the West. From the start, I was working towards an end where they would be free. This plot twist was set in stone already around chapter 5 if not earlier.

I suppose with you feeling the chapter being out of character for them just means that I have failed as a writer. I haven't been able to properly convey the characters' thoughts, emotions, reasons and situations.

I'm sorry to have disappointed you.

Feedback from KyonKyon01: I'm not disappointed per say, I just think we obviously have different opinions. I'm older than you, so maybe I have a different viewpoint on things. In my personal experience (and this came with time) it's not necessarily the circumstances one is in that determines a person's happiness. It's where their priorities lie and finding your determination to be happy. If you have the right motivation, you really can overcome pretty much anything. To me, a baby is a perfect reason to find your determination and overcome anything to find happiness. Especially for a strong couple who really love each other. When I've seen two people who are in love have a child together, it's a pretty powerful thing. That's why I just don't think that becoming lord and lady would have defeated them or broken their spirit. The more love you have and the stronger your family unit, the hardships don't matter as much. And your characters DID grow. They grew beautifully and became stronger. That's why I think it was so shocking for me that that would choose to leave their baby behind. I truly didn't see it coming. Now, that doesn't mean you FAILED as a writer. I don't think that at all. I think you're a very talented writer. I guess I just interpreted where you were going in a different way than you intended. I really thought that the burden of being in the castle was a mechanism to bring the two closer together. I didn't think it was going to be a such a major factor, because for me that's not what I was focusing on. I was focusing on their relationship, so that's why I thought when they had their baby, it was only going to bring them closer together. That's why it felt so unimaginable that that they would give him up. It really boils down to a difference in personal philosophies. I do see where you're coming from. I just disagree with the reasoning. They may had had their son's best interests in mind, but I just don't think it captures the full scope of why that could possibly be the wrong choice. They're giving up knowing their son, being there for him, loving him and supporting him. All due to the presumption that they might eventually deteriorate under the burden of being Lord and Lady. I think their actions show a lack of wisdom and patience. It seems short sighted for them to presume that they will most definitely be miserable as lord and lady of the west. I'm not saying they're pulling that idea out of nowhere, but I also think that they've changed. It is my experience that just because something was the way it was in the past, doesn't mean it will be that way in the future. That's why I had made that comment of if it's safe for the son, why would it be a death sentence for them? Their rule as lady and lord could have been completely different than that Of Kimikyo. It seems that they are operating under assumptions. If they had stayed in their roles, who's to say they couldn't of changed things? Also, why assume that living life without their child is the better option? You don't think that's going to eat them up inside? To me, in their fear of what MIGHT happen, they have made it a CERTAINTY that their child will go a good chunk of his life without knowing his parents. That doesn't seem much better to me. Life is never written in stone, and you don't have to settle for the lot life has handed you. You can change things. Strength to me, doesn't mean running away from what might happen. You face it and do the best you can. Things don't change for the better by running away. Both the canon characters and your characters have always displayed actions that are in line with that sentiment, that's why I had said this event felt in conflict with their characters. Your post on my wall makes it clearer as to why you think Kagome feels it's in her son's best interest to leave. However it still feels unpleasant to me for all the reasons mentioned above. However, this is your story. If I disagree with you, does that mean you failed as a writer? No. Perhaps, it's me who can't look past her personal viewpoints. The world of fanfiction has a way of building up mythologies. It's hard not to let that color your opinion. But, at the end of the day, this is your story and I admire you sticking to your vision, even if other people might not agree with it. I hope though, that you see my viewpoint as well and know that it's not meant to be disrespectful. If anything it's a sign of a job well done on your part. If you failed as a writer, I would have never gotten so emotionally invested in the story. Right?

Thanks for another review to Chain! ^^

Yes, Kagome is finally starting to realise her changing feelings. It won't be too long now. Few more chapter I'd wager... before we will reach the grande finale...

The threesome dream had three reasons to its existence: 1. I wanted to do it. x3 2. The fic needed some long overdue comic relief and 3. of course, Kagome's important realisations.

I'm really happy to hear you're enjoying the story so much! Thank you! ^_^

Thank you so much for your wonderful review on 'Made of..'! I'm glad that you like it, I wasn't sure if I made the 'he'/'she' thing clear enough at first but I'm not worried now ^^. Miroku is just one of the great characters that an author can play around with without him sounding too OCC. He's great really.

Thank you!

Thank you for reviewing Chain. :3

I know, the latter half of the chapter was quite cruel.

Thank you so much for complimenting Sess' character portrayal, I've quite consciously portraying him in this story with my own interpretation in mind.

Their relationship will stabilise, but for the grande finale I have planned to be perfect, it will still be a while before they will openly admit their love to each other.

Thank you for your thoughts and support, I'm happy to know you're enjoying the story! ^___^

Love,
Chie
