Once Upon a Time in Khem- Cover Piece
Picture information
Description:
Color-tweaked version of the fanart that sparked my AU fic Once Upon a Time in Khem. Tried my best to make it look like it's printed on papyrus, or some other type of textured-weave surface to reflect the fic's Neo-Egyptian setting.
Had this sitting on my comp for a while now gathering dust, but thought might as well post it rather than having reworked it for no reason.
Once Upon a Time in Khem
Pharaoh Sesshomaru receives a gift from Kouga- a tribal lord- in the form of a beautiful concubine named Kagome. Though she belongs to the pharaoh, alone, it becomes apparent that she's capturing the attention of a few in his palace. RATED MA

Thank you- I hope that you enjoy the story so far (I'm only finishing up chapter 5 now, so there's not much to 'the story' just yet XD).
I'd heard about there being an Inuyasha fic that was set in Egypt a while back, but I haven't read any- not sure if the one you mentioned and the one my friend (who shall remain nameless, as she'd been ranting in the forums about it back before the anti-ranting rule was established) was talking about are the same one. If I recall correctly, it had something to do with Anubis and she was all angsty about him being referred to as a 'dog god' rather than a jackal. *scratches head* but there was no mention of Aladdin, so they're probably two different fics.
I've always had a huge fascination with Egypt, but I can easily picture the 'ancient' Egyptians being technologically advanced without it changing much to their culture or history, thus the 'Neo-Egyptian' background for Khem.
Kagome's eyes are just wonderful. The way you have done them is beautiful; they shine with a life all their own and I really feel Kagome looking back at me. I love this picture so very much and as always, it is up to your exquisite, exacting standards.
You never fail to delight the senses, thank you for the pleasure.
I'll look forward to reading your story!!
(when I have time that is... :( )
