“Of course!” Kagome quickly defended. “It’s just that it was kinda unexpected, and well…you’re you?” Sensing his rising ire, she awkwardly pressed on. “She must be a real spitfire to have earned your attention. So when do I get to meet her?”
A rosy scarlet hue stained his cheeks. “Um…well…”
Kagome urged him on. “Is it sometime soon?”
“Tonight…maybe?”
“Really? Where?” Chocolate eyes sparkled.
Amber slanted away. “At the, um, palace festival…”
“What festival?”
“Surprise?!”
